A steady, light footstep could be heard.
Mu Run turned around and saw Mo Quyang. He must have just washed his face; the stray hairs on his forehead were still damp, with a few slightly longer strands hanging down in front of his eyebrows.
Although he was very tall, he still had the bones of a boy, not fully developed, and lacked the broad and strong build of an adult man. His well-tailored black shirt made his already pale skin appear excessively white, even dazzling.
Her naturally thick eyelashes and defined features gave her a languid, starry look.
"It smells good."
"It not only smells good, but it also tastes delicious—something you've never experienced before." Mu Run was quite confident in her cooking skills.
"Knife, fork, chopsticks, spoon, what cutlery do you use?"
"It seems like we'll need all of these dishes." Mo Quyang sat down at the table, looked at the wine glass, and seeing there was only one, asked, "Aren't you drinking?"
"I just remembered, I'm allergic to red wine." Mu Run poured him a glass; she had only learned this from Pan Jingjing's memories. Pan Jingjing was allergic to alcohol; even a small amount would trigger hives.
She didn't want to suffer through several days of unbearable pain and itching just because she indulged in a little food.
After taking a sip of wine, Mo Quyang said, "You're well awake."
"It's good as long as it suits your taste, but judging from the aroma, this wine is quite special."
"The wine was given away at the auction."
"Auction house?"
"Aslanda".
"Oh. Try these dishes and see if they taste right, especially this squirrel-shaped mandarin fish, which took me a lot of effort to make."
Looking at the squirrel-shaped, golden-yellow fish, Mo Quyang picked up his chopsticks and took a piece of the tempting golden fish meat.
It's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a sweet and sour, smooth texture and a hint of pine aroma... It's even more delicious than it looks.
"Where did you learn that?"
"It's tough to survive in District 11. Unlike on the Imperial Planet, where even a stray dog is fat and strong. To survive, I worked odd jobs everywhere, doing all sorts of work."
"So, you learned it while working?"
"Hmm." Mu Run thought about Pan Jingjing's memories. She did have memories of working odd jobs in different places. In order to survive, she never had a single day of peace.
"Of course, cooking also requires talent. As the saying goes, the master leads you to the door, but the practice is up to you. These dishes are all the result of my painstaking research. Even this seemingly ordinary cucumber salad has gone through one, two, three, four, five, six steps before it came to you."
"Really? Let me try it." Mo Quyang picked up a piece with his chopsticks. The taste was crisp, sour, and fresh, which was very appetizing.
"Is it good?" Mu Run asked, picking up a piece of food with her own chopsticks.
Mo Quyang didn't answer. Instead, he put down his chopsticks and picked up another vegetable and meat skewer. The slightly charred asparagus, peppers, and sweet potato chunks, paired with the golden-brown, juicy beef, looked incredibly appetizing.
"This is absolutely amazing!" Mu Run had already tasted a skewer before it was served and loved it. "I could even take this dish out to a street stall."
“Every single one of these dishes is good enough to take out,” Mo Quyang replied while eating.
Mu Run smiled and poured him more wine. "If you're satisfied with my cooking, can I ask you something?"
"Speak." Mo Quyang wiped a bit of grease off his long, slender fingers with a napkin, then picked up his wine glass and took a small sip.
"That's how it is." Mu Run looked up at his stunningly handsome face again, especially his thin, pink lips, which were glistening with a thin layer of oil, making him even more alluring. Considering his status... no girl could resist a man like that.
