Chapter 615 Treatment

Mu Run stood by the bed, looking at Su's mother who was lying unconscious on the bed. Her complexion was no better than that of a dead person.

"Father, brother, can I stay with Mother tonight? I have so much to tell her."

"...Okay." Su Qi helped his father up, glancing sadly at his mother on the bed. "Mother has been talking about you a lot. Just call out if anything happens."

"Okay, bro."

Since seeing Su's mother, Su's father has remained silent, perhaps because he is no longer able to speak.

After they all left, Mu Run took out Gu Dong from her spatial storage.

Gudu is a medical robot. As soon as it appeared, it noticed Su's mother lying on the bed and automatically stood by the bedside.

The lifelike black eyes suddenly turned blue and emitted a dazzling blue light, scanning Su's mother from head to toe again and again.

"Acute appendicitis has led to gangrene and perforation of the appendix, complicated by acute gastritis and diffuse peritonitis. Surgery is required!" The mechanical voice, devoid of emotion, spoke words that were all the more chilling.

Mu Run asked, "Can it be cured?"

Gudu: "Okay."

"Let's begin," Mu Run said.

An hour later, Su Qi's wife, Gong, arrived, carrying some congee and side dishes.

Hearing footsteps, Mu Run glanced at Gu Dong, who was still undergoing surgery, and went out the door.

"Why are you here, sister-in-law?" Mu Run quickly walked a few steps and took the food plate from her hands.

"You didn't eat dinner, and your brother was worried you were hungry, so he asked me to bring you some food. How's Mom?"

"She's still asleep. Sister-in-law, you should go back first. You're not feeling well, so don't go in yet."

Gong's round, bulging waistline suggests she's been pregnant for at least six months.

Gong touched her belly, sighed, and said, "Alright, I'll head back now. Just call for your sister-in-law if you need anything."

"Don't worry, sister-in-law."

After seeing Gong off, Mu Run went inside, sat down at the table, and began to eat, completely unaffected by the operating table just a few steps away.

Having lived this long, she has weathered countless storms. Apart from Fu Yunchen, nothing can affect her emotions anymore; all her outward expressions are simply what is appropriate to show in that particular situation.

After finishing the meal, Mu Run cleaned up the dishes.

"Gudong, I'm going out for a walk. Can you manage by yourself?"

Gudu didn't speak, which meant there was no problem. Actually, even if there was a problem, she couldn't help; aside from some common sense, she knew nothing about medicine. Offering help blindly would only make things worse.

After leaving the house, Mu Run walked towards the courtyard where the lights were still on.

"...Your sister's marriage must not be given up so easily." Su's father said solemnly to Su Qi, who was sitting to the side.

Su Qi remained silent and did not speak.

After a long pause, he said, "I know, son. But what's done is done. My sister has already married him. Now we can only see what kind of person that boy is."

"Hmm. You handle this matter. I trust your judgment in people." Father Su sighed. "For three generations, the Su family has served the Yan family like slaves. I never imagined that my precious daughter would end up like this. She was given to a beggar with just a casual remark. It's heartbreaking."

"It is the mother's fault if the daughter is not properly taught. After the Minister found out, he gave the lady a severe scolding," Su Qi said in a low voice.

"Scold? Hmph! That's my daughter's lifelong happiness. And your mother's illness, which was just starting to improve, is now ruined by this absurd and outrageous marriage..." Father Su slammed his hand on the table.
