Chapter 640 The Wedding (Part 1)

"You were using spiritual power just now, weren't you?" Mu Run narrowed his eyes. "You're a spiritual cultivator."

Leng Zhi asked in surprise, "You noticed?"

His movements resembled throwing out a hidden weapon.

Mu Run replied, "I told you, I'm not stupid. Since you're a spiritual cultivator, what do you need me for? Do you have too much gold and nowhere to spend it?"

"Hmm...hmm!" Leng Zhi nodded.

Mu Run rolled her eyes at him. "You're sick." She turned to go back to her room.

She had just turned around when Leng Zhi grabbed her hand.

Mu Run frowned, then tried to shake him off... but failed.

Leng Zhi gestured for everyone to leave first.

He said earnestly to Mu Run, "Come with me, and I can give you everything."

"That's a nice way to put it." Mu Run scoffed coldly, exuding a chilling aura. "Let go!"

Leng Zhi stared in astonishment, "You!"

Mu Run broke free from his grip. "I'm married, and my husband is alive and well. Besides, you can't compare to him in looks or any other aspect. Oh, by the way, he's also a spiritual cultivator, and with five elemental roots!"

Seeing Leng Zhi stunned by her words, Mu Run turned and went back to her room.

She was just trying to rub it in with her words; if she weren't still on his ship, she would have left immediately.

After she left, Leng Zhi chuckled softly, and the sound grew louder and louder...

What an interesting woman!

Her husband? He was also a little curious.

...

After a peaceful night, Mu Run, bathed in the morning light, admired the beautiful sunrise over the sea.

A maid brought her a cloak. "The master was worried that you might catch a cold, so he specially ordered me to bring you this."

Mu Run accepted the cloak and said to the maid, "It's not because of you masters, but because I don't want to put you servants in a difficult position."

The maid was momentarily stunned, then said respectfully, "Thank you, young lady. If I may say something inappropriate, you are the first person to refuse the city lord's kindness."

Mu Run paid no heed, simply admiring the beautiful scenery before her: the deep sea, the fiery sun, and the golden morning light, all intertwined...

"It's so beautiful, you should see it too."

The maid followed Mu Run's gaze. Although she could see him every day, the feeling at this moment was somewhat different.

Leng Zhi stood by the window of the room, watching her and the maid, a playful smile on his lips.

After having breakfast, Mu Run went to Leng Zhi's room.

This was her first time in his room, and it was unexpectedly simple and unpretentious. Only a painting of orchids hung on the wall; a few strokes, yet vibrant and lively, almost making one see the slender, emerald-green leaves swaying gracefully in the wind. The accompanying calligraphy was even more powerful, vigorous yet light, rounded yet subtly elegant. The signature was Leng Zhi—it was his painting.

Mu Run was somewhat surprised and praised, "The painting is good."

"Here you go." Leng Zhi walked over, took the painting down, rolled it up, and handed it to Mu Run.

After a brief pause, Mu Run reached out and took it, saying, "Thanks."

"What do you want?" Leng Zhi personally poured tea for Mu Run.

Mu Run picked up the teacup and took a sip. The tea was mellow and rich, sweet and fragrant. "Good tea."

Leng Zhi said, "You even know about tea."

Mu Run replied, "I understand a little. You should know why I'm here this time. To be honest, we're already here. If we don't make things clear now, we won't be able to do our job well later. If you, the city lord, are still not satisfied, my 100,000 taels of gold will just fly away on wings."

As she spoke, she gestured with her hands to resemble two small wings, displaying her lively and playful nature.
