Chapter 88 People from the Mountain Stronghold

*******

Yingzhou Wharf —

Cai directed the dockworkers to unload the cargo containers from the ship one by one.

Redmi had already found a horse-drawn cart to haul the goods and was calling out to people to move the cargo boxes onto the cart.

The raw tea was all semi-finished dried tea, and a box of it didn't weigh much, so the laborers quickly finished moving it.

After paying the wages, Hongmi and Cai kept watch over the convoy from one end to the other to prevent any accidents.

After a non-stop journey, we finally arrived at the city gate of the capital. However, because we did not have an entry pass, we were stopped outside the city.

Hongmi paid a passerby fifty coins to deliver a message to Manager Jin of Yunduo Inn, saying that the mountain goods he ordered had been delivered. He was promised another fifty coins after the message was delivered.

Not long after, a middle-aged man who looked very shrewd and capable arrived at the city gate.

Upon seeing that it was Sister Cai and Hongmi, they immediately took out their access passes and gave them to the city gate guard.

After confirming that the license plates were in order, the city gate guards inspected all the boxes in the convoy. They found that the boxes were full of tea, and the aroma of the tea was clearly that of high-quality tea, which made them very interested.

Manager Jin understood his intentions perfectly and immediately took out two catties of tea from the tea box, which allowed him to pass through smoothly into the city.

In the evening, Mu Run sent all the craftsmen working in the teahouse home, and she locked the shop and prepared to return to the Fu residence.

"Sister Run—" a clear and joyful voice called out.

Mu Run's hand holding the key trembled, and the key fell to the ground. Without bothering to pick it up, she looked in the direction of the sound.

A dashing woman in red and a gentle, kind middle-aged woman stood not far away, watching her.

It's Redmi and Cai's.

"You, what brings you to the capital?" Mu Run picked up the keys and jogged towards them, her face beaming with joy at seeing her family and friends.

Sister Cai smiled and said, "I came to deliver mountain products to Madam, and I will stay here to serve Madam."

Hongmi said, "There's nothing to do in the mountains. I left the inn that no one has to eat or stay at to Yang Yang. I came to the capital to broaden my horizons. If Sister Run needs anything, I'll stay and help out. If not, I'll go back to the mountains."

"Yes, we need it! We need it so much!" Mu Run was overjoyed. She had been thinking about how to find a helper, since her teahouse was backed by Bianyun Village, and she absolutely couldn't use people she couldn't trust. Now the problem was solved in an instant.

"I am Jin Licheng, the manager of Yunduo Inn. Greetings, Madam." A middle-aged man led a carriage over and bowed respectfully to Mu Run.

Mu Run curtsied in return, "Manager Jin, please don't be so polite. I've long heard of the great name of Jin Licheng, the head of Yixian Hall, since I was on the mountain. Meeting you today, I can see that his reputation is well-deserved."

Jin Licheng humbly replied, "I am unworthy of such praise. Madam, the cart is full of mountain goods. Could you please unload them into the tea shop's warehouse?"

"Of course! Thank you so much, Manager Jin!" Mu Run was overjoyed. The tea she had been longing for had finally arrived. It was wonderful.

After all the tea boxes were packed into the storeroom, Mu Run led them to Wanfu Restaurant, which was just one street away from the teahouse, to have a meal and welcome Hongmi and Sister Cai back.

During the meal, Manager Jin gained a new understanding of Mu Run, the mountain stronghold's wife. He had initially heard from Mo Xiaowan that she was just a rustic village girl who clung to the stronghold leader and wouldn't leave. However, he hadn't expected her to be so insightful in both her speech and her thoughts, and talking to her was quite enlightening.

After finishing their meal, at the entrance of the restaurant, Manager Jin suggested that they go to the teahouse the next day to check on the renovations.

Mu Run readily agreed, then waved goodbye and returned to the Fu residence with Hongmi and Sister Cai.
