That evening, the three of them had another meeting in the living room.
"If you ask me, why don't we find a place with abundant energy and forcibly activate the Boundary Stone with chaotic energy?" Ye Meier suggested, indulging in a whimsical idea.
"Test you my foot!"
Zhang Shaozhong rolled his eyes at her, annoyed. "That old ghost Heisha already said that if we don't have enough energy, we'll be devoured by the spatial power and leave no trace! Do you want the three of us to turn into cosmic dust together?"
"What should we do! We don't know anything about this or that, it's driving me crazy with frustration!" Ye Meier grabbed her purple hair in annoyance.
Ling Qingxue, who had been silent all along, suddenly put down her teacup and said softly, "Perhaps... we should go back to where we started."
"The starting point?" Zhang Shaozhong and Ye Meier looked at her at the same time.
“Cloud Mist Mountain,” Ling Qingxue uttered.
Night Enchantress also realized: "That's right! We fell to Earth from there after breaking through space! There might be some clues there!"
Zhang Shaozhong frowned: "That's not right, is it? I remember when I found you, you were almost dead, and there was nothing around except a broken valley."
Ling Qingxue explained, “When I fought Mei’er, the energy tore through the void, which may have opened a temporary passage. But such passages are extremely unstable. After we passed through them, they would likely close on their own or even disappear. However, at the point where space was torn, even if the passage disappeared, some subtle traces might remain, or... there might be some kind of more hidden node that we did not notice at the time.”
They could just pack up and go.
The three of them didn't drive; instead, Zhang Shaozhong used his chaotic energy to carry the two women to the foot of Cloud Mist Mountain in no time.
Returning to this familiar place, Zhang Shaozhong felt a little excited. It was here that he rolled down the hillside and began his extraordinary life.
With his hazy memories, he led Ling Qingxue and Ye Meier to the hidden entrance to the valley.
"This is it!"
Zhang Shaozhong pointed to the crack hidden by vines, "That's where I rolled in back then!"
Pushing aside the vines, the three of them entered the valley one by one.
The valley was much as he remembered it: overgrown with weeds and piled with rocks, and many places were still bare due to the traces left by that great battle.
"Look, I was hiding behind that rock."
Zhang Shaozhong pointed to a pile of rubble and vividly described the scene of the two women's earth-shattering battle he had witnessed, "Qingxue, your 'Frozen Thousand Miles' move was so cool! Mei'er, your demonic energy transformation was like a special effect! It scared the crap out of me!"
Ye Meier rolled her eyes at him: "Stop flattering me! If I had even a shred of strength left, I would have killed you, you little spy, first!"
Ling Qingxue ignored his banter, closed her eyes and focused her mind. Her powerful divine sense, like mercury flowing across the ground, carefully scanned every inch of the valley and every rock.
Zhang Shaozhong and Ye Meier also stopped joking and each released their divine sense to investigate.
However, once, twice, three times...
Aside from ordinary flowers, plants, and stones, there were only a few barely perceptible energy imprints left from the battle years ago, nothing else!
There were no remnants of spatial rifts, no traces of barrier fluctuations, and not even the slightest abnormal spatial distortion could be detected!
“Strange…” Ling Qingxue opened her eyes, her brows furrowing slightly. “Back then, when Mei’er and I crossed over from another realm, although the passage was unstable, there should have been strong spatial ripples and traces of damaged barriers when we landed. Why… is it so clean?”
Night Enchantress frowned as well: "Yes, even if it's been several years, there shouldn't be no trace left. Unless... someone cleaned it up later? Or, was the barrier one-way, a one-time use?"
Zhang Shaozhong was not giving up. He paced back and forth in the valley, touching the rocks with his hands, and even tried to inject chaotic energy into the place where the jade bottle had fallen.
No reaction at all!
"Damn it, this is a ghost!"
Zhang Shaozhong was a little discouraged. "So we came all this way for nothing? This place is just an ordinary wild valley now?"
He had originally hoped to find some clues here about how to locate the "Starfall Land" or a stable passage.
Ling Qingxue pondered for a moment and said, "There are two possibilities. First, the spatial passage and barrier here were accidentally triggered by the collision of my and Mei'er's powers and the aura of the 'Chaos Origin Liquid'. They are unique and temporary, and will heal themselves without leaving a trace afterward."
"Secondly," she said, her tone becoming more serious, "there are beings far beyond our comprehension who erased all traces after we left."
Ye Meier shuddered: "Far beyond comprehension? Don't try to scare people with your fake high-mindedness! What level would someone have to be to easily erase traces of crossing realms? A Celestial Immortal? A Demon Lord?"
Zhang Shaozhong also felt a chill down his back.
If it's really the second possibility, then this is a very serious matter!
Earth, this "beginner's village," is a place where the waters run deeper than you imagine!
"Forget it, thinking about it too much will give me a headache!"
Zhang Shaozhong shook his head, deciding not to dwell on it. "Since we can't find anything, let's go back. Let's just consider it... a spring outing!"
Although there was no substantial gain, it confirmed that Yunwu Mountain was now "clean," thus eliminating one incorrect option.
