Chapter Four: A lose-lose situation!

The once spotless white robes were now tattered and covered in dust and bloodstains. The aura was so faint that it was almost imperceptible, yet it still possessed a cold and aloof quality that commanded respect.

Not far from her, the gleaming longsword was stuck in the ground, but its luster had dimmed considerably.

Zhang Shaozhong stared blankly at it.

This...this is so beautiful!

She's a million times prettier than those female celebrities on TV!

Is this a fairy?

He didn't dare get too close, mainly because the woman was emanating a faint chill that made him shiver.

He then cautiously turned in another direction to find the witch in black.

The crater created by the black-clad witch was deeper.

She lay on a patch of scorched earth, her black dress torn even more, revealing large expanses of snow-white skin, which was also covered with wounds and burn marks.

Her face was also pale, but the arrogant and seductive air between her brows did not seem to have completely dissipated even in her unconscious state.

Her lips were an eerie purplish-black, and the blood oozing from the corner of her mouth was dark red.

Her breath was also faint, but occasionally her body would twitch unconsciously, and a chilling heat and dark fluctuations lingered in the surrounding air.

Zhang Shaozhong was terrified. This witch looked like a dangerous woman who could jump up and devour someone at any moment.

It seems they really did perish together... no, they were both severely injured and barely clinging to life.

His gaze began to sweep over the two women, looking for any glowing, impressive-looking treasures lying nearby.

After scanning around, it seemed that apart from their weapons, there was nothing else.

He was a little disappointed, but he didn't dare to touch the two terrifying-looking weapons.

Just as he was hesitating whether he should slip away quickly or look around some more, his gaze was suddenly drawn to something in the very center of the battlefield.

It was a... jade bottle?

The bottle is only about the size of a palm, with a very simple and antique shape, as if it were carved from some kind of white jade.

But strangely, a faint, pinkish mist was slowly and gradually emanating from the bottle.

The mist was very, very thin, almost invisible in the dim light, but it had a strange, sweet scent that was both floral and fruity, and it smelled wonderful.

Zhang Shaozhong sniffed and subconsciously took a couple more breaths.

"Huh? What's that smell? It smells pretty good..."

He muttered to himself, watching the pink mist slowly and silently spread outwards, as if it were alive, gradually enveloping the ruins, the two unconscious women in the pit, and of course, himself.

He had no idea that this earth-shattering war between immortals and demons might, in a way that he could neither predict nor control, completely engulf him, this mortal who had stumbled upon the scene.

The pink mist emanating from the jade bottle is subtly altering the course of everything.
