When Zhang Shaozhong received the private message from the "company boss" asking him to do a feng shui consultation, he was quite pleased.
It seems that the reputation of "Tales of Immortals and Demons" has spread a bit, and business is coming to them on its own.
When he mentioned it to Ling Qingxue and Ye Meier, Ling Qingxue naturally had no objection, feeling it was another opportunity to put her ideas into practice.
Ye Meier was curious about places like "company" and wanted to see what "sects in this world" were like, so she also clamored to go.
So, the three of them arrived at "Mingke Technology Development Co., Ltd.", located in an old office building, at the agreed time.
The company's storefront wasn't large, and the interior did indeed look somewhat...desolate.
Only a handful of employees were slacking off in the office area, creating a dull atmosphere.
"Boss" Zhao Ming was already waiting at the door. He had deliberately worn an ill-fitting suit today, trying his best to look like a boss, but the tension in his eyes and the calculation hidden behind his glasses could not be completely concealed.
"Oh, three masters, we've been waiting for you! Please come in, please come in!"
Zhao Ming greeted them warmly, his gaze quickly sweeping over Ling Qingxue and Ye Meier, and he scoffed inwardly: They're putting on quite a show!
As the agent, Zhang Shaozhong stepped forward to shake hands and exchange pleasantries: "Hello, Mr. Zhao, we are 'Tales of Immortals and Demons'. This is Teacher Ling Qingxue, and this is Ms. Ye Meier. You mentioned in your private message that the company's recent fortunes have been poor?"
"Yeah yeah!"
Zhao Ming sighed and began to complain according to the prepared script, "The company's performance has been declining for the past six months, the employees are not motivated, and the projects keep going wrong... I heard that feng shui is very important, so I thought I would ask the three of you to take a look and see if there is a problem with the layout of this office?"
As he spoke, he subtly guided them into the office area, where several hidden miniature cameras were flashing a faint red light in a corner.
As soon as Ling Qingxue entered the office area, her brows furrowed almost imperceptibly.
She did not answer Zhao Ming's question immediately, but instead slowly scanned the entire space with her gaze.
Night Enchantress, however, was less polite. She sniffed and whispered to Zhang Shaozhong, "Kid, this place smells off... there's a... sour stench of scheming and lies." Her demonic senses were particularly sensitive to negative emotions and malice.
Zhang Shaozhong's heart tightened, and he also felt that President Zhao's enthusiasm was a bit too much, his eyes flickering uncertainly.
He secretly gave Ling Qingxue a wink.
Ling Qingxue nodded slightly, indicating that she understood.
She remained calm and, following Zhao Ming's lead, began to analyze the situation using her own feng shui theories, but her tone was more cautious than usual:
"Mr. Zhao, in my humble opinion, your company's main entrance faces directly to the end of the corridor, which is a type of 'piercing heart evil,' where the main energy flows straight in, making it difficult to accumulate wealth. Moreover..."
She pointed to the staff office area and said, "This place is backed by a glass curtain wall, which is called 'no support'. Employees are prone to feeling insecure and their minds are unsettled."
She was talking about common and relatively easy-to-understand issues in feng shui, which sounded reasonable.
Zhao Ming sneered inwardly: As expected, they've started to deceive us!
He quickly pressed on, trying to steer the conversation in a more mystical and easily falsifiable direction: "Master Ling is absolutely right! Then... could it be that our company's performance has declined because we've encountered some more powerful evil influence? For example... is it possible that we've attracted some unclean spirits?"
He stared intently at Ling Qingxue, hoping she would say something like "there's a ghost."
Ling Qingxue shook her head, her tone calm: "I didn't sense any evil energy. Fluctuations in fortune are mostly related to one's own business, market environment, and... people's hearts. Feng shui adjustments are only supplementary, creating a more harmonious and smooth working environment, and cannot directly reverse profits and losses."
Zhao Ming was taken aback, not expecting her to be so "rational" and not bring up the topic of ghosts and gods.
Unwilling to give up, he pointed to a faint stain in a corner of the ceiling and asked, "Master, look at that spot, it's dark in color. Could it be some kind of 'filth sha' that's affecting the company's energy?"
Ling Qingxue glanced at it and said calmly, "That seems to be... water stains that haven't dried yet? I suggest the property management check the water pipes; long-term dampness is bad for the health of the employees."
Zhao Ming: "..." This is not what he expected!
Why doesn't this woman play by the rules?
Just then, Ye Meier became impatient.
She didn't have the patience of Ling Qingxue to play along with this guy's act.
She walked directly to an "employee" who was pretending to work. The employee was intimidated by her presence and instinctively shrank back.
Ye Meier pointed to the half-dead cactus on the employee's desk and said to Zhao Ming, "Hey, Mr. Zhao! Your employee isn't focused on his work at all! Look at this cactus, it's almost dying of thirst and nobody cares. It shows that this person lacks a sense of responsibility, or has a lot of resentment towards the company! Does this have anything to do with feng shui? This is a management problem!"
She walked to another corner and kicked at the haphazardly piled debris on the ground: "And here! They don't even bother to clean up the trash! How can anyone be in a good mood to work in such a mess? Is this some kind of bad luck? This is just laziness!"
With each word she spoke, Zhao Ming's expression grew increasingly grim.
His prepared "feng shui trap" was completely useless. Instead, Ye Meier pointed out the shortcomings in management, which made him swallow all his prepared "anti-counterfeiting" arguments.
Zhang Shaozhong could also see that this Boss Zhao probably had ill intentions.
He quickly tried to smooth things over and steered the conversation back on track: "Mr. Zhao, it seems that your company's problems lie more in internal management and employee mentality."
Regarding feng shui, Teacher Ling just gave some basic suggestions, such as adding a screen or green plants at the main entrance, and adjusting the workstation layout so that employees have their backs against a solid wall. These changes are not significant, but they should improve the comfort of the environment to some extent.
