Chapter Ninety-Two: Urine Flowing from the Buttocks!

Dr. Zhao Ming straightened his back and spoke into the microphone: "Evidence? Hmph, feng shui itself is pseudoscience! Utter pseudoscience!" He emphasized the word "pseudo," as if it carried a thousand pounds of weight.

"Dear netizens and viewers, please think about this from a scientific perspective,"

He tried to mobilize the "rational masses" behind the screen, asking, "What 'fierce aura' or 'atmosphere'?"

Has anyone measured them in a laboratory using sophisticated instruments? Has any peer-reviewed paper confirmed their existence? No! Absolutely none!

He waved his arms.

"They are exploiting people's anxiety about the uncertainty of the future and their desire for health and wealth, peddling these unverifiable and false concepts, and weaving a set of seemingly mysterious arguments. Isn't this a carefully packaged intellectual fraud?"

He became more and more agitated as he spoke.

However, to his utter surprise, the first to strike him was not the commander Ling Qingxue, whom he had anticipated, but the vanguard officer Ye Meier!

Before Ling Qingxue could speak, Ye Meier, who looked charming and alluring, scoffed, her disdain practically overflowing the screen.

Her eyebrows shot up, and she spoke as fast as a Gatling gun firing:

"Pseudoscience? Oh my, Mr. Zhao, what else can you do besides labeling people with the big hat of 'pseudoscience'?"

Are you out of your mind? When did we ever say that Feng Shui is 'science'? Huh?

This question took Zhao Ming by surprise.

This wasn't part of his prepared plan!

Ye Meier didn't give him any time to think, and continued to bombard him with questions: "What we are sharing is traditional culture! It is the 'wisdom of experience' that our ancestors accumulated over thousands of years, lying on the ground, looking at the mountains and rivers, living in houses, and summarizing little by little! Do you know what wisdom of experience is?"

It's like, "Do it this way, and it's comfortable to live in; do it that way, and it's awkward!" Is this the same thing as fiddling with all those bottles and jars in your lab?

She leaned forward, her eyes sharp, as if they could pierce through the screen and stare into Zhao Ming's face: "You say feng shui is useless? Fine! Then let me ask you, if I threw you into a stinking, fly-infested garbage dump to sleep for one night, would it be the same as sleeping in a clean, tidy, well-ventilated, bright, and spotless room?"

Huh? Does this even need scientific proof?

This is a difference that anyone, as long as their nose isn't blocked and their eyes aren't blind, can perceive!

She spread her hands, facing the camera in the live stream, with an exaggerated expression: "There are many principles in feng shui. To put it bluntly, isn't it just about teaching you how to make your home environment more comfortable and pleasant to live in? Avoid those layouts that make you feel depressed just by looking at them and cramped while living in them! Is there anything wrong with that?"

Huh? According to your logic, Dr. Zhao, does one have to find happiness living in a garbage dump to be considered 'scientific'?

This barrage of direct, down-to-earth, and powerful criticism completely stunned Zhao Ming.

He opened his mouth, somewhat flustered, trying to steer the conversation back to what he knew: "You...you're using a fallacy! Environmental comfort and those mystical 'evil spirits' they're talking about that can affect fate and health are completely different things!"

Just then, Ling Qingxue, the commander who had been observing the situation quietly, finally spoke.

Her voice remained as clear and cool as a secluded spring in a valley, yet every word carried a strange and undeniable power that instantly suppressed all the noise.

Dr. Zhao,

She remained polite in addressing him, but her words pressed on relentlessly, "Let me ask you, do you know what people commonly refer to as 'draft through the hall'?"

Zhao Ming answered instinctively, "...I know."

That's common sense.

"If the front and back doors and windows of a house are directly opposite each other, the wind can flow in without any obstruction. If a person is in this windy situation for a long time,"

Ling Qingxue calmly explained, "Is it easier to catch a cold and cause joint pain? Is there any basis for this phenomenon in modern medicine?"

Zhao Ming choked for a moment, then had to admit, "...Yes." It's true that a cold caused by wind and cold, where airflow lowers the perceived temperature, is common medical knowledge.

"This is the core principle of the 'piercing hall evil' in Feng Shui."

Ling Qingxue said calmly, "It's just that the ancients used a figurative term to summarize its potential impact on health. Stripped of its mystique, the core is a simple understanding of a healthy living environment."

Before Zhao Ming could process this, she immediately threw out her second question: "Dr. Zhao, if a person lives in a dark, damp environment filled with clutter, cramped and never seeing sunlight, is he more likely to feel irritable, anxious, or depressed? Is there any basis for this within the scope of your psychology?"

Zhao Ming's forehead began to sweat: "...Yes."

"This is the influence of the environment on people's thoughts and emotions."

Ling Qingxue's voice carried a penetrating clarity: "'Feng Shui' also contains a great deal of this kind of principle of regulating people's hearts. Most of the Feng Shui adjustments we usually talk about are based on this kind of obvious principle that is closely related to human feelings, to sort out and optimize the environment, so that people can live more comfortably and have a more peaceful mind."

She paused, then her tone suddenly turned sharp. Though she didn't raise her voice, it resonated like thunder in Zhao Ming's ears: "So, how can you call it fraud? You keep talking about science and always citing evidence, yet you don't even acknowledge the most basic observations of life or the simplest logical connections. You simply deny everything under the guise of 'unscientific,' isn't that the real 'unscientific' attitude?"

Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!

Ling Qingxue's actions were a perfect example of using minimal force to achieve maximum effect!
