Chapter Twenty-Four is an utter disgrace!

The two of them stood there dumbfounded by the water, striking a pose, but didn't move for a long time.

Zhang Shaozhong and his fellow hikers were completely baffled.

"Ladies, are you... catching fish with your mind?"

One of the backpackers couldn't help but make a joke.

Ling Qingxue blushed, feeling somewhat embarrassed.

Suddenly, she pointed her fingers like a sword and thrust them fiercely at a blurry black shadow in the water!

puff!

A faint, almost invisible wisp of cold air emanated from his fingertip and was thrown into the water. Without even a splash, the fish flicked its tail and swam away leisurely.

"Pfft, hahaha!"

Ye Meier laughed without any politeness.

"That's hilarious! You're just being hypocritical; are you trying to tickle a fish?"

Ling Qingxue turned pale with anger and glared at her fiercely.

To prove she was stronger, Ye Meier clapped her hands hard into the water!

puff!

A small cluster of black flames, smaller than a candle flame, fell into the water and went out with a hiss, leaving a wisp of smoke. Instead, it scared away the fish nearby.

Zhang Shaozhong: "…………"

The hikers: "…………"

A deathly silence fell over the scene.

The two bigwigs looked at their "masterpiece" with faces turning red and then pale, filled with shame and indignation!

What a disgrace! Absolutely a disgrace!

They used to be able to stir up rivers and seas and capture dragons with ease, but now they can't even do anything to a fish in a small stream in the mortal world!

And they used such a ridiculous and insignificant amount of power!

"Hmph! Boring!"

Ling Qingxue forced herself to remain calm, turned and left the stream, her back stiff.

"Pah! This fish is too stupid! It's not worth my time!"

Night Enchantress followed, grumbling as she went.

In the end, dinner consisted of meager compressed biscuits and energy bars.

The two big shots ate with such pain on their faces, as if they were swallowing poison.

As night deepened, everyone gathered around the campfire, spread out emergency blankets, and prepared to rest.

When it came time to arrange the night watch, Zhang Shaozhong volunteered to be on the first shift. He was really worried about letting these two ancestral figures keep watch, fearing they might set the forest on fire or "fight" with any passing animals.

Ling Qingxue and Ye Meier expressed their disdain for the thin emergency blankets again, but unable to withstand the chill of the night, they awkwardly wrapped themselves in one each, lay down far apart, and turned their backs to each other, as if the other were some kind of source of infection.

The forest fell completely silent, save for the crackling of the campfire and the chirping of insects in the distance.

Zhang Shaozhong stood guard by the fire, watching the two big shots who, even in their sleep, had furrowed brows as if they were arguing with someone. He then looked around at the dark, unknown mountains and sighed deeply.

Spending the night in the deep mountains with these two "pig teammates" who have absolutely no wilderness survival skills and are constantly fighting amongst themselves...

This experience was absolutely amazing.

He could only pray that the night would pass peacefully and that nothing else went wrong.
