After the tide receded, Chaochao strolled on the soft, damp sand, stopping and starting. Whenever she saw something interesting, she would pick it up with tongs, squat down to examine it carefully for a while, and then happily put it into the red plastic bucket.
The adorable and cuddly little girl kept wandering around the beach. A little boy playing nearby saw this and became very curious. He ran over to her and discovered that this little girl was just laughing so happily because she had found a clam!
"Oh, that's all?" The local boy looked slightly disappointed.
What's so special about that?
The sudden sound of an unfamiliar voice caused a brief moment of confusion to appear on Chaochao's smiling face.
"I'll teach you!"
The friendly little boy moved a large rock, and the crabs hidden under the rock immediately scattered and fled.
"Wow--"
Chaochao stared in disbelief, tears almost streaming down her face.
Although there were no shrimp, the crab was still delicious.
Jiang Chi gazed at the little boy from a distance, and after confirming that he was just a child from Sheniu, he stayed put with peace of mind.
Hearing the little girl's heartfelt praise, the little boy was greatly encouraged and then took her to collect octopus, oysters, and abalone.
At this moment, the two children were squatting on the sand. Ahao stared at a spot in the sand, took Chaochao's little shovel and started digging. He directly poked the mantis shrimp's nest, and three or four mantis shrimps immediately emerged from the sand.
This was even more shocking to Chaochao than finding the little crab earlier.
"Wow, Brother Hao, you're so amazing!"
The two children have just exchanged names.
This was the tenth time Ah Hao had heard praise from his adorable little sister, Chao Chao. A faint blush rose on his wheat-colored skin. He tried to hold back, but in the end, he was too shy to do so. He put down the shovel, said, "That's all for now. You can play all you want. If you need anything, just ask me," and then ran off.
Left standing there bewildered for several seconds, Chaochao readily picked up the shovel and began digging, mimicking what her older brother, Ahao, had done earlier.
However, not a single living creature was found.
Despite finding nothing, Chaochao was not discouraged. She carried her nearly full bucket to another spot and then continued digging with a contented air.
Jiang Chi followed behind, watching, and understood in his heart that this... was like the realm of a sage?
It's like someone fishing, not caring whether any fish will bite.
For Chaochao, the process of digging soil alone is enough to make her happy.
"Huh?"
Chaochao's little shovel struck a hard object, and when she pried it out, she found it was a rose-red patterned conch.
Lei Bao, who was nearby, saw it and immediately came over and said, "Wow, what a beautiful conch shell! I heard that if you put a conch shell next to your ear, you can hear the sound of the sea."
"Really?" Chaochao curiously brought the snail shell to her ear and actually heard a faint sound of sea breeze. Her almond-shaped eyes widened immediately. "It really is there!"
Lei Bao hesitated, then said, "...Chaochao, why don't you turn around and take a look?"
Hearing this, Chaochao turned her head in confusion and saw that her older sister, Xiaoqing, was quietly blowing air into her other ear. "?"
With a complicated expression, Peng Peng pulled Xiao Qing aside and sighed deeply.
Seeing this, Ahao, who had been lingering and watching from a distance, suddenly felt a sense of crisis. He immediately ran back, looked directly into Chaochao's raised eyes, and didn't know what to say. Finally, he stammered, "The sea, conches, and seashells of our Huangyun Village can bring good luck..."
After pinching his thigh to finish speaking, Ahao ran away with his face flushed.
Jiang Chi narrowed his eyes: "..."
Will it bring good luck?
Upon hearing this, Chaochao lowered her eyes and examined the conch shell for a long time. Just when Jiang Chi thought she would put it in the bucket as before, Chaochao ran towards him with the conch shell held up.
"Here you go, brother. I just found this!"
The little dumpling ran up to him, her eyes sparkling as if she were showing off a treasure: "Brother Ahao said this is a lucky conch shell!"
Her brother gave her the lucky necklace; with this little seashell, she wouldn't have to worry about bad luck anymore.
Thinking of this, Chaochao hurriedly stuffed the conch shell into Jiang Chi's hands, along with the bucket and clips.
She's going to find more lucky conches and seashells!
Jiang Chi lowered his eyes and stared at the "alluring" conch in his hand. His gaze faltered slightly. After a while, he gathered his fingers together and put the conch into his pocket.
Searching for conches was clearly more exciting for Chaochao than picking up seafood. Like a tireless wind-up toy, she ran around digging here and there, her energy so high that the viewers in the live stream were amazed, wondering if she was really a three-and-a-half-year-old.
As she collected more and more beautiful conches and shells, Chaochao took some time to ask Uncle Zou, who was still standing in the "guard post," and asked him for a small bucket to hold her colorful treasures.
When the new bucket was full, Chaochao finally stopped searching. She picked up a twig and started drawing on the damp beach, just like the other children.
Five meters away, Jiang Chi was guarding Chaochao's two buckets. He gazed at the little dumpling who kept finding amusement for him, his lazy eyes unconsciously carrying a hint of a smile.
"Brother, come quick!"
Chaochao waved excitedly to Jiang Chi, and as the young man approached, she hurriedly pulled him forward, exclaiming, "Look!"
Chaochao admired her incredible 3x2m drawing with great satisfaction, saying, "This is Daddy, this is Grandpa, this is Brother..."
The little dumpling poked the tiny figure in the center with a twig and grinned widely.
"This is Chaochao!"
Jiang Chi nodded: "It's really well drawn."
They look like decent human beings.
Even though he knew the answer perfectly well, Jiang Chi still raised an eyebrow, leaned down, and chuckled, "Who is your favorite among them?"
