Chaochao, who was about to say "okay," turned her head at the sound and looked at the young lady who had spoken, only to hear her continue calmly:
"You two can come again tomorrow, try to come earlier than today, then Matcha Sicontin will be available."
Feeling humiliated by a waitress repeatedly, the woman glared at her angrily and said, "Believe me or not, I'll file a complaint against you!"
Yu Ning looked directly at her, her gaze calm, her smile unchanged on her fair face: "This is your right."
She paused, then subtly turned to face the store's security camera. "Of course, I trust my enlightened manager won't blame me."
After singing a few words with a trusting expression, she sighed and said, "Because she knows that I am doing this to protect the rights of my customers."
The woman opposite was furious: "You, you..."
The cleaning staff in the dessert shop looked over cautiously. This was the first time she had seen Yu Ning argue so fiercely over something. Most of the time, she seemed indifferent. Although she got along well with everyone, she always felt that Yu Ning was detached from the crowd.
The lady took a deep breath, and was about to say something more to Chaochao when Wang Jie, unable to bear it any longer, stepped forward and blocked her view. "I'm sorry, ma'am, my little... little sister also wants to eat this cake, so I can't give it to you."
The sudden appearance of someone startled her. She had assumed the young girl was alone. Looking at the tall, short-haired woman in front of her, whose slightly downcast gaze carried a hint of warning, she immediately took a step back, feeling weak.
"Fine, Kiki, we're not eating at this place today! Seriously!"
The woman took the little girl's hand and stormed out, quickly leaving the store muttering curses under her breath.
Yu Ning glanced at Wang Jie. She had just noticed that there was another person here. Judging from the looks of it... she must be this little girl's older sister?
Watching the mother and daughter leave from afar, Chaochao turned her head and bumped into the gaze of the young lady opposite her.
The little dumpling's thoughts were blank for a moment, then she said firmly to Yu Ning, "Don't worry, sister, I'll give you a good review!"
Her little hand had just reached into the crossbody pocket when she suddenly realized she hadn't brought her little star. Her face grave, she rummaged around for a moment, and finally pulled out the symbol of her identity—
"Sister, here's some candy for you~"
Chaochao tiptoed and handed a milk candy to Yu Ning.
Yu Ning was taken aback, and wanted to say that she didn't need it.
Then she saw the little dumpling, who was only up to her thigh, tilting her head and devising a plan for her: "If your boss scolds you, you can show her this candy!"
She paused after speaking, and those around her assumed she was realizing the absurdity of the "seeing sugar as face" analogy, but after two or three seconds—
After thinking it over, little Chaochao nodded confidently and said, "Sister, you can just show her the candy wrapper. You can eat the candy inside first, it won't affect anything."
It would be such a waste not to eat a perfectly good candy!
It also took up one of her share for today.
Chaochao pinched the candy with her fingers one last time as if saying goodbye, then tiptoed a little higher and pushed the milk candy onto the counter, where it slid right into Yu Ning's eyes.
She lowered her eyes and looked at the candy quietly. After a moment, her slender fingers picked up the candy and put it into the pocket of her apron. She smiled and said, "Thank you for the candy."
"It's okay, sister, you also protected what I wanted to eat." Chaochao grinned happily, her almond-shaped eyes crinkling.
Yu Ning looked at her and suddenly said, "Little girl."
Chaochao looked up at her.
"Remember to never give in to others, and always put your own feelings first."
She said.
Chaochao tilted her head, not immediately understanding the meaning of the sentence, or even what "accommodation" meant, but she quietly kept the words in her heart.
The little dumpling nodded blankly and softly replied, "Okay."
Yu Ning didn't know why she was saying these things to someone unrelated to the storyline. This little girl had a kinder older sister, and it wasn't her turn to...
Yu Ning paused for a moment, then suddenly remembered Wang Jie's existence, and this pause brought her back to work.
She had already packed the last matcha scone and placed it beside her. She asked softly, "Do you need a bag?"
Upon seeing her movements, Chaochao's confused expression immediately turned panicked: "Wait!"
Yu Ning paused, raising an eyebrow and casting a questioning glance.
Suddenly, the little dumpling shyly stretched out a finger and pointed to the strawberry cheesecake daifuku in the glass display case on the other side: "I also want this pink and chubby one..."
Yu Ning: "..."
Her professional instincts led her to reply with an "okay," before she politely turned her head and asked, "...Didn't you just say you only wanted one?"
“Yes, we only need one of those two,” Chaochao said confidently. “Because the pink chubby one is a must.”
Before dinner, the chubby little thing had already taken up some space in her tummy, leaving only enough room for either matcha bread or snowman pudding.
This was Chaochao's original plan.
It can be considered a very careful calculation.
The little dumpling was very proud, feeling that she was indeed a math whiz trained by her brother Yu Shen. She couldn't do anything too much, because her dad would find out.
Xiaoqi felt that Chaochao was like a seagull doing a split, testing the limits of danger, except that she was testing Huoqin's sensitivity.
“…I see.” Yu Ning nodded calmly, put on gloves, and took out a daifuku. “Do you need it packed up?”
