Chapter 489 Chaochao is home!

Grandpa Huo personally stood guard at the arrival gate of B City Airport, his eyes fixed on the passenger passage.

Xie Jingcheng and the others knew that Old Master Huo had come to pick them up from the airport, so they left as soon as they landed. Jiang Chi, however, had something really important to do this time. He was stopped by his manager, Brother Hong, as soon as he exited the gate—he needed to coordinate tomorrow's schedule and also keep up with the media frenzy of the past three days.

As soon as the sharp-eyed Chaochao spotted someone, she happily called out, "Grandpa!"

The strong, childlike voice finally calmed the old man's anxious heart.

"Chaochao, are you alright?"

The old man anxiously checked his beloved granddaughter from head to toe. When he saw the band-aid on the back of the little girl's hand, a genuine heartache appeared in his usually stern and hawk-like eyes.

"Come home with Grandpa, and he'll give you a good rest."

Chaochao nodded vigorously, then suddenly shook Huo Qin's hand, her almond-shaped eyes sparkling like jewels:

"What about the poop?"

Standing tall beside her, Huo Qin remained indifferent as always. Upon hearing this, his deep gaze shifted and lingered on Old Master Huo.

The usually energetic old man was now trying his best to hide his fatigue. In just two or three days, a few noticeable strands of white hair had appeared at his temples.

Just like the one he saw in the hospital corridor fifteen years ago.

Old Master Huo paused for a moment. He looked at Huo Qin, whose long eyelashes were half-closed and who seemed to be thinking about something. His sharp eyes, honed by military training, immediately caught the unusual spot on Huo Qin's wrist, even though the white bandage had concealed it quite well.

The son, who was in his thirties, stood there without even looking up.

Grandpa Huo's lips twitched slightly, then he looked away and said to Chaochao, "Of course, I'll give you and your father a good boost."

The little dumpling smiled, her almond-shaped eyes narrowing, and pounced on the old man, hugging his leg: "Grandpa, I want some too!"

The old man felt very warm inside and wanted to stroke his beloved grandson's head, but his hair was as prickly as a hedgehog's, so he gently pinched Chaochao's cheek and deliberately said:

"Oh? You and your dad are out recording a show, it must be tiring. Grandpa is staying at home, what can he do to make up for it?"

As soon as Chaochao opened her little mouth, it sounded like she'd just taken a shot of steroids: "It must be because she misses me, Daddy, and Brother so much! She's been missing them so much she's starving!"

Grandpa Huo was amused and laughed twice. The airport ground staff passing by seemed to suddenly hear the sound of countless gold coins clattering together.

The old man was feeling quite pleased when a thought struck him, and he suddenly realized something was amiss. If he could spot the hidden injury on Huo Qin's wrist, he could also have caught the furtive glance Chaochao gave him when she spoke earlier:

“…”

"Every morning".

His smile faded slightly, and his facial muscles twitched almost imperceptibly. Old Master Huo slowly revealed his suspicions, the difficulty of which only he knew:

"You—you don't think Grandpa's hair is thinning again, do you?"

Chaochao blinked guiltily, tilting her head slightly to the side: "..."

She...she didn't say anything.

Old Master Huo: "..."

Huo Qin, who was standing to the side, let out a very soft sneer.

Old Master Huo silently swallowed his bitterness, then turned around and took out his phone to send a message to his secretary: Arrange a top-of-the-line hair care package for tomorrow, the best and most effective kind.

Fans and media who had been waiting at the airport to greet the arriving passengers had already been cleared out by security personnel and kept behind a cordon. The group then proceeded through the VIP lane and directly into their vehicles.

Old Master Huo anticipated that Huo Qin would not agree to let Chaochao sit in the back seat with him, so he specially chose a Maybach extended version when setting off.

Everything about him is great, except he's not low-key.

Luxury cars with top-notch quality and appearance stand out even in busy traffic.

Fortunately, the driver was very skilled, and apart from some congestion on the way out of the airport, the journey to the Huo residence was smooth.

As soon as she entered, Chaochao was hugged by Aunt Song, who kissed her face several times. The old woman's voice trembled:

"Good boy, good boy!"

As she spoke, Aunt Song turned away to quickly wipe her tears, and when she turned back, a loving smile was on her face:

"My mother-in-law misses Chaochao so much!"

The servants of the Huo residence stood in the hall, staring intently at Miss Chaochao, their eyes red-rimmed.

Having gone through the process countless times in one afternoon, Chaochao was very familiar with it and quickly calmed down the family of elderly people in the house.

Then I couldn't wait to go to the kitchen to see my supplements, but before I even got inside, my sister Zhizhi took me upstairs to quickly wash my hair and take a shower.

They got home late, and it was already past 7 p.m. when Chaochao finished her dinner.

It was a rare treat for Chaochao to be indulged by her father. After eating her fill, Chaochao leaned back on the sofa with her round little belly exposed and let out a satisfied burp.

Because she had exercised too much that day, Chaochao only accompanied her grandfather for a short stroll in the garden before she became so sleepy that her eyes were practically closed. She then went back to her luxurious princess room to sleep.

Inside the study, Lin Cheng stood before Huo Qin, reporting on the progress of his work.

Job duties are not limited to—

Lin Cheng: "Chen Feifei has been taken into custody by the police. Based on her multiple illegal acts, her sentence is expected to be between 15 and 20 years."

"As for President Gu of Zhengtian Group..." Lin Cheng's lips curled slightly when he mentioned Gu Kai, who had caused so much harm, but he couldn't help but feel more relieved when he said the next sentence, "He said he wanted to sue the Huo family for hiring someone to commit assault, but he was asked to leave by the police because of insufficient evidence."

When bad luck strikes, even drinking water can cause problems. Not to mention that Mr. Gu has been plagued by misfortune lately, and when he returned home drunk late at night, he "happened" to be beaten black and blue by a few thugs.

Not only did the Huo family ban all of the old man's online accounts, but they also made proper arrangements for his funeral.

As for who will collect his body...

“Yu Ci is ready,” Lin Cheng added.
