"They're all fake."
Yu Ci calmly gazed at Gu Kai.
The "confidential data" that the man needed back then was nothing more than an analysis report compiled by the boy based on publicly available market information, some of which was passed on to Gu Kai as "intelligence".
Gu Kai was inherently suspicious and cautiously tested the items multiple times. The subsequent successes he experienced were merely bait to lure him into a trap and lower his guard.
After gaining his trust, Yu Ci handed him a complete set of meticulously crafted false intelligence. At first glance, it seemed perfectly reasonable, and upon closer inspection, it appeared to be without fault. The middle-aged Gu Kai, whose senses were clouded, simply waved his hand and approved the project plan, still dreaming of Zheng Tian's complete dominance.
Unbeknownst to many, the impending collapse of Zhengtian Group was already a foregone conclusion.
Having been deceived for days, Gu Kai's face turned deathly pale, but his reason finally returned at this moment. When he heard that the information was false, he even felt a sense of relief and cried out as if grasping at a straw:
"Comrade, I am a victim too!"
"You just instigated a crime." The law enforcement officer interrupted him directly, expressionless, and showed him the recording device. "Student Yu has applied for full-time supervision."
Yu Ci had previously stated that Gu Kai had serious violent tendencies and, out of concern for her own safety, applied to wear a device for personal monitoring by law enforcement officers.
Therefore, while Gu Kai was plotting in his self-righteousness, his voice had already been clearly heard by the police outside the office.
Gu Kai: "..."
He took a deep breath and composed himself: "I need to call my lawyer."
“That’s your right,” the law enforcement officer said impatiently as he pushed him out, “but please also be aware that you also face charges of attempted murder.”
"What?!" Gu Kai shouted, "I didn't!"
"Six years ago, you pushed your pregnant wife down the stairs, causing her to miscarry on the spot."
The employees watching from outside the office gasped in shock.
Then, the look in their eyes as they looked at their boss was filled with deep disdain.
Bah! What a scumbag husband who brings misfortune to his wife.
"That's because she's pregnant with another man's bastard child!!!"
Gu Kai shouted, his eyes bloodshot and veins bulging in his neck.
Law enforcement officer: "You should say that to your lawyer."
Gu Kai was dragged away, and before leaving the office, he glared at Yu Ci with bloodshot eyes.
In the eyes of the public security and procuratorial authorities, the high school boy who was persecuted by his unscrupulous biological father is now smiling faintly as he watches his "father" go.
Yu Ci instantly understood the meaning behind Gu Kai's last glance.
He deeply regretted letting the wolf into his house.
But there was no other way; if he didn't rely on Yu Ci, he wouldn't be able to stabilize the board of directors or keep his position as CEO of Zhengtian.
Even if he is betrayed by his own son, Gu Kai might still not change his mind about having Yu Ci as his successor.
—Because Gu Kai is not only a man from a poor background who has achieved success, he also has reproductive cancer.
Yu Ci had seen through him long ago.
This insecure and paranoid man would rather hand over his family business to his son, who was on the opposing side, than let a complete outsider get involved.
The phone in my pocket kept buzzing and vibrating.
Yu Ci lowered her eyes; the old men on the board of directors couldn't sit still after hearing the news.
The phone spun lightly between the boy's fingers, and a smile as white as frost filled Yu Ci's eyes.
If Gu Kai knew his next move, he would probably be filled with remorse in prison.
The phone rang again with a "buzz".
Like a little gluttonous cat ringing a bell to call for food.
The boy who was intently checking the message with his head down suddenly seemed to regain his human touch.
Everyone in the world has things to do, and Chaochao quickly made a "to-do list" for herself.
The day after Yu Ci sent Chaochao a photo of the finished "taro balls", the incredibly efficient little dumpling rushed to her brother's house for lunch.
After arriving at Yu Ci's house, she wandered around the house curiously, like a puppy sniffing and marking its territory.
She hadn't visited Yu Ci's house in a very, very long time; the last time was when Yu Ci was sick.
The two-bedroom, one-living-room apartment was still kept clean and cozy, but after walking around it twice each morning, it felt even more welcoming.
Chaochao stood upright in the living room, her feet slightly apart. She rested her round chin on her hand as if deep in thought, her bright almond-shaped eyes suspiciously scanning the surroundings.
Hmm... why is that?
The plug-in system is online: "Chao Chao, look at the refrigerator."
Hearing the sound, Chaochao looked over and her eyes suddenly lit up: "Hey, it's a Peppa Pig fridge magnet!"
The system remarked that the young man was teachable: "Take another look at the sofa."
Chaochao immediately turned her head.
Only then did I notice several fluffy Peppa Pig pillows placed next to the sofa, just sitting there casually, making me imagine some kind of animal trap.
Sure enough, the next second—
"Ahhh! It's the loving Peppa Pig family!!"
Chaochao raised her arms and pounced onto the sofa with a loud thud.
The little dumpling, its face buried in the sofa, nodded mysteriously at the back of its head.
Mmm-hmm—it smells nice.
After shaking hands with each of Peppa Pig's family pigs, Chaochao said he had important business to attend to and had to excuse himself, then returned to the balcony.
She moved a low stool, tilted her head back slightly, and immediately spotted the little orchid she had given to her brother among the lush green potted plants.
Robust and healthy, thriving, elegant and charming yet possessing a strong physique.
The boy was taken very well.
A gentle breeze rustled through the green leaves, and the swaying tips of the orchids seemed to nod and greet people.
