"So this is kindergarten," Chaochao exclaimed. "Daddy, you should have let me come here sooner."
A soft chuckle escaped Huo Qin's throat.
They seem to be adapting very well; there's nothing to worry about.
Later, everyone noticed that Chaochao was thriving after starting kindergarten, especially at night when her smartwatch would ring incessantly, just like the order bell at McDonald's.
One day after school, Chaochao had just managed to break free from a group of friends who were reluctantly saying goodbye when a little girl called out to her shyly:
"Chaochao, my mom really likes you. She wants to ask if she can hug you?"
"Okay." Chaochao nodded, her bright almond-shaped eyes glancing at a beautifully dressed woman behind her. "Is this the pretty lady?"
With just a casual move, he could make someone's heart flutter with joy.
Then Chaochao received a fragrant sticker.
As her teacher led her toward Huoqin, Chaochao suddenly felt as if she had become a little bee, flying and flying among the sweet flowers and fruits.
Teachers usually say nice things to parents, but this time she was unusually tactless and sincerely told Huo Qin that Chaochao had a particularly strong learning ability; she could memorize songs and dances after being taught only once or twice. Last time, during the kindergarten's choir rehearsal, Chaochao, who had learned the song early, almost became the class's "little mentor," and was very popular with the other children in the kindergarten.
After thanking the teacher, Huo Qin raised his eyebrows and lowered his head, his gaze shifting to the little dumpling who seemed to be regretting something.
Feeling the gaze directed at her, Chaochao looked up, blinked, and then proudly raised her chin: "I told you I was smart!"
Sigh, these adults must have a huge misunderstanding about her.
Huo Qin: "...I didn't say you weren't."
The little dumpling kept staring at him.
He paused almost imperceptibly, then said in a soothing voice, "Dad thinks you are the smartest child in the Huo family."
Chaochao could barely contain her smile: "Really?"
Huo Qin nodded: "Even wiser than the founding ancestor of the Huo family."
Unable to resist the praise, the little dumpling nestled shyly into her father's arms.
Huo Qin stroked the top of her head for a while, then suddenly spoke:
"You weren't secretly eating, were you?"
She just shyly raised her head silently and gazed at her father.
Finally, she turned around, her sigh mingling with the desolate sight of her departing figure.
Prejudice in people's hearts is like a piece of millet cake.
Huo Qin: "...You can eat an extra half bowl for dinner."
The forlorn figure in front of him paused slightly, then let out another long sigh: "Alas..."
Prejudice in people's hearts is like a piece of millet cake and half a bowl of rice.
Having evolved to the point where he could analyze the composition of a sigh: "...Then I'll accompany you to the garden to pile up stones."
Chaochao's back trembled.
She managed to hold back for three seconds, but could no longer contain herself and turned to pounce on him: "Daddy, you said it!!!"
