Chapter 15: Grandpa Little Dumpling Makes His Appearance!

After Lin Cheng, whose worldview had been reshaped, left in a daze, Huo Qin went upstairs to work, while Chaochao stayed in the living room, hugging her little rabbit and watching another episode of cartoons.

At the end of the episode, commercials started playing on TV.

A mother opened the door and handed her child, who was studying hard by lamplight, a cup of hot milk, telling him with heartache that he should get some rest.

Chaochao sat on the sofa, staring blankly at the screen, lost in thought.

The system couldn't help but worry: was Chaochao thinking about her mother? Other children were born with loving parents, but Chaochao...

The more the system thought about it, the more heartbroken it became, its eyes welling up with tears. Just as it was about to speak up to comfort its poor baby, it said, "My sweet daughter, even though your own mother is gone, you still have me, your number one mommy! I will always be with you, sob sob!"

But then Chaochao jumped off the sofa and knocked on Aunt Ning's door.

Aunt Ning is now a live-in housekeeper, and Huo Qin arranged a guest room for her.

The door opened, and Chaochao whispered, "Auntie, could you heat up a glass of milk for me?"

She tried, but the milk was placed too high; she couldn't reach it.

Aunt Ning readily agreed, especially since it was her duty.

Five minutes later, Aunt Ning handed Chaochao a cup of warm milk at the right temperature. The cup was insulated, so there was no need to worry about Chaochao burning her hands.

Chaochao carefully took it with both hands, but instead of drinking it, she prepared to walk towards the stairs.

Aunt Ning asked in confusion, "Doesn't Chaochao drink it herself?"

Chaochao shook her head and said, "No, this is for Daddy to drink."

Aunt Ning was stunned for a moment, then smiled and shook her head, her heart melting completely.

With a sweet little cotton-padded jacket like Chaochao, who would worry about not being warm enough?

Seeing that Chaochao insisted on taking her home herself, she tactfully instructed, "Chaochao, be careful not to fall up the stairs."

"Okay, Chaochao understands."

The system finally couldn't contain its curiosity and asked, "Chao Chao, why are you heating up the milk for Daddy?"

Chaochao: "Daddy works hard, you should drink some hot milk too. I don't know where Daddy's mom is, but I'm here."

Chaochao can also bring milk to her dad!

Upon hearing this, the system wished it could materialize and hug and lift Chaochao high in the air. Oh, where did this little angel come from!

Heave-ho! Heave-ho!

At that time, Chaochao, with her short legs, had already walked halfway up the steps, one step at a time, and nervously checked with each step to see if the milk had spilled.

When she finally reached the second floor, she breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing that the milk hadn't spilled at all. Aunt Ning, who had been watching over Chaochao from the doorway, also felt relieved and went back to her room.

Huo Qin, who was working in his study, suddenly heard a sound coming from the doorway.

"Daddy~"

He got up and opened the door. Looking down, the first thing he saw was a glass of milk, faintly steaming.

With her two lotus root-like arms, Chaochao struggled to hold the cup high above her head. Seeing the door open, she said softly, "Daddy, drink milk!"

Startled, Huo Qin instinctively took it.

Did he say he wanted to drink milk?

Relieved, Chaochao opened her hand and stared at him with her clear, glassy eyes.

Huo Qin could almost see her eyes silently urging him, "Drink, drink."

Caught in a bind, Huo Qin had no choice but to take a sip in front of her.

In fact, he only drank coffee to stay awake at night, not to mention milk, which he hadn't drunk for more than ten years.

However, at this moment, a sip of warm milk did seem to alleviate the discomfort caused by the high-intensity work.

Seeing this, Chaochao affectionately hugged Huo Qin's leg and tilted her little head up: "Daddy, you've worked hard. Get some rest early."

Yes! She said that line too! Chaochao is so great!

The child's voice was soft and sweet, and Huo Qin felt that compared to the milk in front of him, this little dumpling was the real dairy product.

Like warm milk, it kept getting hotter and hotter, until it finally burned his heart.

After he finished drinking the milk without realizing it, Chaochao was still standing there, staring at him intently.

Huo Qin suppressed the upward curve of his lips.

"Aren't you going to sleep yet?"

"Any other wishes?"

Is offering milk as a gesture of goodwill?

If the little guy takes a fancy to something else, buying a company would be a piece of cake.

In Huo Qin's world, everything involves the exchange of interests. He subconsciously applied this standard to Chao Chao as well.

"A wish?" Chaochao repeated, bewildered.

She just wanted to deliver milk to her dad; she never expected any reward in return... but...

Chaochao's eyes lit up immediately.

A look of understanding flashed in Huo Qin's eyes. Just as he suspected.

At nine o'clock at night, Chaochao hugged Huo Qin's arm and mumbled goodnight before slowly falling asleep, her fair face still bearing a sweet smile.

Hehe, Daddy told her a story today... I'm so happy...

Huo Qin tucked the corner of the blanket around Chaochao, then lay down on his side.

He stared at the ceiling, unfamiliar thoughts swirling in his mind. Her unexpected answer at that moment undoubtedly stirred his heart.

"Can Daddy tell me a story?" the little girl asked.

The warm little bundle of joy nestled against his arm.

Huo Qin slowly closed his eyes.

The Huo family's old residence.

Grandpa Huo sat on the sofa, his cane slamming heavily against the ground.

"That brat Huo Qin had a child and didn't even tell me. He doesn't respect his father at all!" Old Master Huo said angrily.

If he hadn't brought the child to the company today, and Xu Sheng hadn't discovered it and interrogated Lin Cheng to find out that he had a granddaughter!

His grandfather was actually the last person to know the truth!

When the old man got angry, his brows furrowed into a deep frown, making his already imposing features even more dignified. The servants in the living room were too frightened to approach.

Aunt Song sighed helplessly. She had lived in the Huo family for thirty or forty years, so she was not as afraid of the master as others.

She handed the phone to Old Master Huo, "Sir, are you really not going to look at the young lady's photo?"

These are photos of the young lady at the company that she got from Lin Cheng.

She glanced at it, and her heart instantly melted.

The little girl, dressed in a light yellow dress, had smiling eyes, like a fairy child descended from heaven!

What an adorable child! He looks just like my husband when he was a child.

Old Master Huo kept his eyes straight ahead and snorted, "What's so interesting about it? It's just two eyes, a nose, and a mouth."

Seeing that he remained unmoved, Aunt Song sighed and was about to put her phone away.

"Ahem—" Old Master Huo coughed, "Then, let's take a look..."
