Chaochao stood on tiptoe, her toes stubbornly refusing to cross the threshold—she didn't go into the room.
“Papa…Papa…” she called softly.
The lights were still on in the room; Dad wasn't asleep yet, but why was no one there?
Chaochao's little feet got tired of standing, so she wanted to change her posture, but she lost her grip on the handle and rolled into the bedroom, rabbit and all.
Chaochao: !!!
A question mark appeared above the child's head.
How did she get in!
A pair of hands with distinct knuckles helped her up from the ground.
"Does it hurt?" the man asked calmly.
Huo Qin didn't catch her in time this time, mainly because, well, the little one's puppy-like appearance was so cute that he was distracted.
"No, it doesn't hurt."
She fell onto the soft carpet without getting hurt at all.
Chaochao stared blankly at him, still wondering where her father had come from.
Then, remembering that she had been caught trespassing, she hurriedly waved her hands: "I knocked on the door, but Dad didn't answer. I... I just peeked out..."
Huo Qin nodded, not paying much attention, and went straight to the point: "What is it?"
Chaochao hugged her rabbit plush toy, looked up at him with pleading eyes, and asked, "Can I sleep with Daddy?"
Huo Qin thought he had misheard. "What?"
"Chaochao's room is too dark, I'm afraid to sleep alone."
Huo Qin: "...You can turn on the bedside lamp."
"But I'm still scared."
Huo Qin could almost see the two rabbit ears on her head drooping down.
Ten minutes later—
Chaochao lay down on the left side of the bed as she wished, with her pink rabbit plush toy leaning against the side. She was happy, but restrained herself and stayed still.
A bedside lamp cast a soft, warm light, and Huo Qin lay on the right side of the bed with his eyes closed.
He tried his best to act as if no one was around, but Chaochao's presence was so strong that it could not be ignored.
not to mention……
Huo Qin opened his eyes and saw a small bulge under the blanket on his left, like a caterpillar slowly crawling towards him.
"..."
"You, go to sleep."
The little bug paused, then poked its head out from under the blanket.
She said in a soft, sweet voice, "Daddy, can I hold your hand while I sleep? Even just one finger is fine."
"Can't."
Sleeping in the same bed with someone was already his biggest concession.
However, when his gaze met Chaochao's expectant, starry eyes...
Another minute later—
"Goodnight, Daddy... Dream of me..."
Chaochao held Huo Qin's finger and fell asleep peacefully, a sweet smile still lingering on her lips.
Huo Qin, however, was not sleepy. The orange light softened his sharp features. He felt the cub's small, soft hand encircle his fingers, a sensation he had never experienced before.
It seems... not so repulsive.
As the night deepened, Huo Qin held Chaochao, who had rolled into his arms, and stared blankly at the ceiling.
How exactly did this happen?
...
The next morning, bright sunlight streamed into the room.
Chaochao sat up, her hair all messy, and stretched sleepily.
Last night, after falling asleep, Chaochao continued her dream. In the dream, a huge monster descended from the sky on a rainbow, and the monsters that had previously attacked her fled in terror upon seeing him.
The giant monster had Huo Qin's face. He squatted down, patted the little Ultraman's head, and said:
"Dad is here."
Chaochao sat on the bed, grinning foolishly, and then began to ponder philosophical thoughts.
If Daddy is a monster, then is Chaochao Ultraman or a little monster...?
The little guy was so focused on his thoughts that he didn't even hear the system's call.
"Every day? Every day?"
"Ah..." Chaochao finally came to her senses, and upon hearing its voice, she immediately looked aggrieved, "Xiaoqi, where did you go yesterday?"
The system quickly replied, "Baby, I'm sorry. I... I accidentally fell asleep..."
Actually, it was taken by the Administration to attend the new system training yesterday, and a patch was loaded along the way.
It waited until Chaochao fell asleep before leaving, but why did the weather change as soon as it returned?! How did Baby end up sleeping with Huo Qin?!
The trained system thought it had returned to power, but now it only suspects that it has applied a fake patch.
After listening to the system's explanation, Chaochao looked at the little bunny by the bed and asked softly, "Did I disturb Xiaoqi's sleep?"
I brought the bunny to my dad's room, and accidentally tripped and fell...
The system that lets you hear the whole process: smoking.jpg.
It smiled wearily: "It's alright, I've already left my body, whatever you do to the rabbit won't affect me."
Chaochao: "What is astral projection?"
"I've just let it go."
"Oh!" She didn't understand, but nodded in agreement.
After a good night's sleep, Chaochao is now full of energy.
She ran downstairs happily. Aunt Ning was preparing breakfast, and Huo Qin was reading a magazine on the sofa.
"Good morning, Daddy! Good morning, Aunt Ning!" Chaochao even ran to the window and looked at the trees in the yard, "Good morning, Grey!"
On the branch, the grey magpie flapped its wings.
Early in the morning, Chaochao, like a little bird just awakened, darted around the house, brimming with vitality.
Aunt Ning suppressed a laugh, "Alright, alright, Auntie will take you to wash up, okay?"
Huo Qin casually withdrew his outstretched hand.
Although he was somewhat inclined to wash the child's face.
Chaochao quickly returned to self-sufficiency, deftly stepping onto a small stool and climbing onto a chair.
Huo Qin withdrew his gaze.
The system noticed this scene and couldn't help but wonder if the villain was worried that Chaochao might suddenly fall down.
When Huo Qin was about to go to the company, Chao Chao jogged over.
