Chapter 250: The Sequel to the Drunken Little Dumpling

Reason told Jiang Chi that he couldn't laugh at this moment; he absolutely had to hold it in! But even though he had received professional training, he simply couldn't hold it in any longer!

The father and son, both with faces as expressionless as still water, silently watched Jiang Chi, who was laughing loudly. Their cold eyes seemed to slash across Jiang Chi's trembling back as he laughed.

Jiang Chi desperately wanted to create the illusion that he was weak, pitiful, and actually crying, but the feigned sobs immediately crumbled as soon as they escaped his lips: "Waaah hahahaha..."

Oh no, this is terrible! It's like adding fuel to the fire, making things even worse, and making things even more difficult.

What ultimately saved Jiang Chi from his dire situation—a double whammy of father and son—was a phone call from the Ji family.

Not long after Chaochao left, Madam Ji noticed the children's unusual behavior.

For example, after her son Ji Shize finished drinking water, he started doing forward rolls back and forth in the living room, and she couldn't stop him no matter what she did. There was also Lingling, who fell asleep on the sofa with her face flushed and her breath was hot. As soon as she got close, she could smell the faint scent of peach wine.

The smell was exactly the same as the one on Chaochao back then; it wasn't the smell of alcohol disinfection at all!

On the phone, Mrs. Ji sounded anxious and apologetic. She said that the three children had found the peach wine hidden in the house and seemed to have all taken a sip. Fortunately, the wine had a low alcohol content, but she didn't know how Chaochao was reacting.

As Madam Ji spoke, she became increasingly remorseful. She firmly stated that if anything went wrong with Chaochao because of this, the Ji family would absolutely not shirk responsibility.

Huo Qin listened to Madam Ji's apology with a calm expression. His loosened tie had been completely removed. After Madam Ji apologized again, his voice was indifferent yet chilling: "If something really happens, you certainly won't escape."

As for how the little dumpling is reacting so far—

Huo Qin held the microphone, his dark eyes glancing at the corner of the living room.

Suddenly recalling the dark moments of repeated defeats while playing games with her friends that afternoon, a dejected Chaochao squatted in the corner of the living room, playing the role of a withdrawn little mushroom.

"...Chaochao has no adverse reactions yet, and the condition is currently under control," Huo Qin said.

Madam Ji didn't notice the word "control," and immediately breathed a sigh of relief, patting her chest and saying, "That's good, that's good..."

After hanging up the phone, Mrs. Ji called Lingling's mother again.

After another round of apologies, she collapsed wearily onto the sofa, glanced at Ji Shize who was running around like crazy, and gritted her teeth as she took out her phone.

After finishing his work at the company, Mr. Ji drove home.

Because we were in a hurry, we didn't call a driver.

With his hands on the steering wheel, surrounded by cars and bright lights, Mr. Ji's heart skipped a beat, and a hint of unease flashed across his face. This brief change in expression was noticed by a traffic policeman on duty by the roadside.

The car was pulled over and stopped.

The traffic policeman took Ji's father's driver's license, and the moment he opened it, his expression turned strange: "Uh... you believe in light?"

"W-what?" Mr. Ji was stunned for a moment, then he saw that his driver's license didn't contain his ID, but a dazzling Ultraman Tiga card. "..."

Silence is Cambridge tonight.

He silently pulled out the Ultraman card that was inserted at the top.

The traffic police officer took the driver's license for the second time, and this time the look in his eyes as he looked at Ji's father was somewhat meaningful.

I never expected that this person, who looks like a domineering CEO, would still have a childlike heart. He dares to be himself, which is admirable.

Mr. Ji smiled politely, but he was actually so embarrassed that he was digging his toes into the bottom of the car. If they didn't leave soon, he would dig his way through the chassis!

Just then, Mrs. Ji called.

The woman's frantic voice came from the other end of the phone, her speech so fast it sounded like she was rapping:

"It was you who insisted on burying it, I told you to lock it in the wine cellar, but you wouldn't listen and the kid found it. Luckily the wine wasn't strong, otherwise it would have been a disaster, you know that!"

The whole thing started when Ji's father, who was watching a TV series, wanted to follow the trend and bury a jar of wine to be dug up for Ji Shize's eighteenth birthday celebration. Since Ji's parents had a very low alcohol tolerance, they predicted that Ji Shize wouldn't be much better off, so they chose peach wine with a low alcohol content.

A torrent of angry complaints rained down on him. Before he could process it all, Mr. Ji looked bewildered. Mr. Shi, not waiting for a reply, roared angrily, "Why aren't you back yet? Your son's gone on a drunken rampage!!!"

Accompanied by a noisy background sound.

Ji Shize clutched a broom and wept bitterly, crying, "Where did my Ultraman go? Where did he go?! Ah! My world is now without light! Ah—"

The call was abruptly ended, leaving only a busy tone.

Having suffered a tremendous emotional blow, Ji's father numbly glanced at the traffic policeman who was trembling with his back turned.

Even if there's nothing wrong, you'll never be able to hold your head up in front of the traffic police. Life is short, it will pass by quickly.

Ji's father skillfully comforted himself.

Compared to the chaos at the Ji family's residence, the Huo residence on the other side of the park wasn't much quieter either.

After playing the role of the autistic little mushroom, Chaochao hugged her phone watch and had already chatted for half the time. She wiped her nose with a small handkerchief:

"...So you're right, right? I'll say you're right! How could Chaochao be a little fool? When Chaochao grows up, she'll be smarter than the smartest puppy... Brother Yuci, are you listening? Did you receive the willow branch bracelet that Uncle Driver brought? Grandpa Bai taught me to make it... By the way, Brother Fishbone, do you know whales? They're all fish..."

These words were so subtle that Yu Ci could not find a way to insert them.

The boy in the video listened to her story with a smile, only needing to imagine himself as a mascot in a hot pot restaurant.

After typing away for a while, Chaochao finally hung up the call and then randomly selected someone from the list.

What a coincidence, it actually caught fire!
