Chapter 321 I have a recording; show me your sincerity.
At this moment, Lu Yanzhi was ordering his men to search frantically for Han Wei.
He saw Han Wei's updated status online.
In fact, the message on his phone was from Han Wei.
[Yanzhi, what you're saying online is all nonsense. Do you remember what happened that day? Lin Zhihuan wanted to fight me. I didn't start it. What you're saying online is rubbish!]
[Yanzhi, I admit I was jealous of Shi Nian, and I even hate her, but why did I do that? I didn't know she was pregnant at the time. Pushing her down the stairs would only make you feel sorry for her.]
Lu Yanzhi didn't want to listen at all.
He played Nie Shiyuan's analysis of Han Wei's behavior over and over again.
She listened to the recitation of his hand pushing her down over and over again, and saw the bewildered and surprised look in his eyes as she fell backward.
What were she feeling at that time?
His tightly clenched hands trembled.
How much pain was she in?
“Ah Zhi…”
Her voice traveled across time and came from afar.
He hated himself so much, hated his past self, hated Han Wei!
"Still haven't found it?" Lu Yanzhi looked at Zhou Zhiyu and asked coldly.
Zhou Zhiyu sensed the oppressive atmosphere and continued to urge on his work.
"Not yet. We've tried our best to find her. Han Wei got into a car, and the owner of that car is very familiar with the blind spots of the nearby surveillance cameras, so we can't locate her right now," Zhou Zhiyu replied, forcing a smile.
"Bang!" Lu Yanzhi slammed his hand heavily on the table.
"Crash..." The cup on the table fell to the ground due to the impact and shattered into pieces.
Just then, Lu Yanzhi received a text message from a caregiver.
[I'm Han Wei's caregiver. I have some recordings I've secretly made recently, containing things you wouldn't believe, related to Shi Nian's car accident. If you're interested, meet me at the street-side cafe tomorrow at noon.]
Lu Yanzhi's brows furrowed tightly.
...
On the other side.
On the bus, Shi Nian's heart was filled with hatred.
She had always thought it was all an accident.
She blamed herself for not observing the terrain, for not protecting the child, and for Lu Yanzhi for accidentally pushing her downstairs.
After losing her child, she fell into a state of numb self-protection until she saw the medicine box in the car, and the belated emotions finally overwhelmed her.
Fortunately, I later met Sisi.
Sisi gave her warmth, and she slowly healed herself; everything was gradually getting better.
But now we're telling her that all of this was deliberately orchestrated!
How could she not hate it!
The Huo family is already searching.
She wanted to find Han Wei herself and tear her to pieces with her own hands.
But just then, her phone rang; it was a video call from Sisi.
"Auntie Xiaonian, can you pick me up from the baking class today?" Sisi's eyes were filled with undisguised worry.
Shi Nian gripped her phone tightly.
"Okay," Shi Nian replied.
Sisi then smiled, revealing her cute little teeth.
"Auntie Xiaonian, the baking class teacher taught us how to make cookies today. I'm waiting for you with the cookies," Sisi said, gesturing for Shi Nian to look at the busy teachers and students.
Shi Nian's eyes welled up with tears.
She frowned and forced a tearful smile.
"Don't worry, Sisi, I will definitely go," Shi Nian said.
She added softly, "Really."
Then he hung up the phone.
Shi Nian closed her eyes, tears streaming down her face.
Her hand gripping the phone trembled so hard she could barely contain her emotions.
On the bus.
Huo Yanmo looked at Shi Nian beside him, tears welling in his eyes.
He understood her heart.
I feel sorry for her.
I feel sorry for her experiences and for her sadness.
He didn't say anything, but gently patted her back to comfort her.
The Huo family's people had already gone to find Han Wei, so all he could do was stay by her side.
The sky outside the car was a clear blue, and cars and pedestrians came and went on the road.
The city is still operating normally.
After an unknown amount of time, Shi Nian finally stopped crying.
She suddenly became very calm.
This made Huo Yanmo somewhat worried.
Huo Yanmo reached for a tissue and wiped away her tears.
Shi Nian turned around and looked at Huo Yanmo.
She still has Sisi, she still has Huo Yanmo, and she still has so many things to do.
She has far too many responsibilities.
We can't risk our lives.
Thinking it over, Shi Nian said, "Let's go to the police station."
After they left the police station to report the crime, the two of them had just gotten into the car when their phones rang at the same time.
It was a text message from the caregiver.
[I'm Han Wei's caregiver. I have some recordings I've secretly made recently, containing things you wouldn't believe, related to Shi Nian's car accident. If you're interested, meet me at the street-side cafe tomorrow at noon.]
...
In the dark room.
The caregiver received three replies.
The messages were from Shi Nian, Huo Yanmo, and Lu Yanzhi. They were all very interested and agreed to meet tomorrow at noon.
The caregiver breathed a slight sigh of relief; with three people, surely one of them could save her!
However, she still needed to be careful and hide well. Now that she had completely fallen out with Han Wei, she couldn't let Han Wei catch her.
Thinking it over, she sent messages to the three of them separately: "[Before we meet, don't tell anyone, especially don't let Han Wei know. Also, I need you to give me this information in exchange for something. When you go tomorrow, be prepared with your 'sincerity'.]"
Soon after, the caregiver received three confirmation text messages.
The caregiver put down her phone, opened the curtains, and looked out at the clear sky.
...
The First Hospital of City A.
The sudden awakening of the person in a vegetative state gave everyone a boost of spirits.
Doctors came over to examine them.
The patient's family members waited anxiously, holding the child, tears streaming down their faces.
Although some people in a vegetative state do regain consciousness, most of them will likely remain in that state for the rest of their lives.
The things she said at her bedside were actually just said in anger.
She didn't remarry with the child at all; she has stayed by his side all these days.
"God bless me." The woman knelt in front of the ward, praying for the protection of the gods and Buddhas.
I don't know how much time passed, but the doctors came out.
They were all moved when they saw the woman kneeling at the door.
Someone immediately helped the woman up.
"Doctor, how is my husband?" the woman asked quickly.
"You'll get better, but it will be a slow recovery," the doctor reassured you.
"How long will it take for him to return to normal? Is he still awake?" the woman asked, peering inside.
"He just fell asleep again, but he'll wake up in the next couple of days. As for his physical condition, we'll need to do a more detailed evaluation later," the doctor said. "He's already awake, which is a good thing."
The woman held her child and nodded with tears in her eyes.
The two returned to the ward, and the woman looked at the person on the hospital bed, crying and laughing at the same time.
Remembering the policeman who had given her his number, the woman wiped away her tears and took out her phone to send him a message.
