Chapter 157 Huo Yanmo Takes Advantage of the Situation

Chapter 157 Huo Yanmo Takes Advantage of the Situation

Shi Nian walked around the corner, her tightly clenched hands trembling, but she didn't stop. Finally, she turned around and went into the restroom.

She turned on the tap, pressed two pumps of hand sanitizer, and rinsed the blood off her hands.

She was all alone there, with only the sound of flowing water.

Shi Nian washed each finger one by one, very carefully, cleaning it thoroughly inside and out.

After washing it clean, she turned off the tap.

But, the next moment.

A tear fell and landed on the back of her hand.

Then, drop by drop, it kept falling.

Shi Nian looked up at herself in the mirror. Her lips were tightly pressed together, and she still had a stubborn look, but her eyes were bloodshot.

She experienced childhood happiness, but everything changed after her father died.

When the family fell into ruin, her mother took her on a life of wandering before remarrying.

Her stepfather treated her badly, often taking his anger out on her, and even nearly beat her to death.

Later, he appeared and rescued her from the clutches of the devil.

She thought he would be her salvation.

Although her mother disowned her after that, she thought that she still had him, and that was enough.

She thought he would understand her, that all she wanted was ordinary happiness, but he still destroyed everything.

The woman in the mirror kept crying, but she refused to make a sound.

The former subordinates of the Shi family were not only the old employees left behind by her father, but also included an encrypted information system, an encrypted black box, and some other things.

Her father's death was shrouded in mystery, and she had investigated it extensively over the years, but always encountered numerous obstacles.

After much investigation, the most likely explanation is that the father learned something he shouldn't have known, or offended someone or some group, and was thus murdered.

And perhaps the ultimate truth is hidden in that undecipherable black box and in those massive, uncopyable encrypted messages that have remained unreadable all these years.

These things were taken over by Lu Yanzhi himself when his father died. He was the person with the highest authority in the system creation department.

The encrypted information was so vast and impossible to copy that it could only be used on specific systems, so she could only obtain it from him.

He may be deliberately delaying because he knows this.

Shi Nian lowered her eyes slightly, clenched her fists, and suppressed the surging emotions in her heart.

It's just a delay.

She thought.

Without her, those things are useless to him.

She can get it through litigation.

This is already the best possible outcome. If Lu Yanzhi hadn't initially thought their divorce was just a sham and hadn't carefully read the agreement, she would almost certainly have had no chance of obtaining them.

Now we just need to wait a while.

She needs patience and time to monetize her commercial value.

When she looked up again, Shi Nian had calmed down.

She wiped away her tears, calmed herself down a bit, looked at herself in the mirror, and smiled slightly.

I'm going to pick up Sisi from Lin Zhihuan's office later; she needs to adjust herself.

After standing there for a while, Shi Nian made sure she was ready before walking around to Lin Zhihuan's office.

From afar, she could hear Sisi's clear, crisp voice; Sisi was laughing.

Shi Nian couldn't help but smile; it seemed she and Lin Zhihuan were having a great time.

Thinking it over, Shi Nian continued walking forward without making a sound, wanting to see what they were doing.

But when she got to the door of Lin Zhihuan's office, she saw that the person standing next to Sisi was not Lin Zhihuan.

It was Huo Yanmo.

The two of them had their backs to her.

Sisi was standing on a small stool, staring at something on the table.

Huo Yanmo stood beside her, holding a pen in his right hand, occasionally smiling and explaining something to Sisi.

"Uncle Mo, does this kitten really look like this?" Sisi asked in a clear voice, pointing to something on the table.

Huo Yanmo nodded and smiled, saying, "It's at your uncle's house now. Whenever your aunt Xiaonian allows it, your uncle will take you to play with it, or bring it to play with you."

Sisi nodded vigorously, then said with some concern, "Uncle Mo, your hand is so steady. When I draw, I always draw crookedly."

"My uncle was like that when he was young. He studied traditional Chinese painting and used a brush. He would secretly cry when he couldn't learn it."

In the office, Huo Yanmo said gently to Sisi, "Later, I made up my mind and focused on practicing calligraphy. So, slowly, I improved a little bit every day and eventually learned it."

"Really?" Sisi's eyes sparkled.

Huo Yanmo nodded, then reached out and took Sisi's hand, guiding it.

"See, isn't this better?" Huo Yanmo asked gently.

"Really!" Sisi jumped for joy.

Huo Yanmo reached out to support her, preventing her from falling off the stool.

The two, one big and one small, smiled at each other, creating a heartwarming scene.

Shi Nian just watched like that.

Standing at the office door.

It feels somewhat unreal.

"Auntie Xiaonian!" Sisi suddenly noticed her.

He got off the small stool and came to her side.

Shi Nian squatted down and hugged Si Si.

“Auntie Xiaonian, Uncle Mo and I are drawing.” Sisi said, leading Shi Nian toward the table.

Shi Nian looked up and saw Huo Yanmo smiling and nodding at her.

Shi Nian nodded and, led by Si Si, went to the table together.

On the table were two paintings. One had childlike lines and was drawn by Sisi. The other painting, though only a few strokes, looked very skillful and lifelike.

The cat in the drawing is the rag doll that Shi Nian had seen before.

It was painted by Huo Yanmo.

"Auntie Xiaonian, Uncle Mo said you've seen this cat, is that true?" Sisi asked curiously. "Does it really have such a big tail, and can it do backflips?"

Shi Nian found it somewhat amusing; it seemed that Huo Yanmo really liked his chubby plush toy.

She smiled and nodded: "Yes, it even flipped over in front of me, and its tail looked like a big brush."

"Then I..." Sisi looked at Shi Nian, then secretly glanced at Huo Yanmo to the side, hesitated for a moment, and asked softly, "Can I play with it?"

Sisi's face showed a mixture of anticipation and shyness.

So cute.

It seems like they really want to see that cat.

The image of the cat Huo Yanmo brought to her that night downstairs at the Fu family's training building came to her mind.

"If Uncle Yanmo agrees, then it's fine," Shi Nian said, cupping Sisi's little face in her hands.

"That's great!" Sisi immediately looked at Huo Yanmo expectantly.

Huo Yanmo squatted down and looked Sisi in the eye: "I'll bring it to play with you another day."

The two are already discussing the specific time and place.

They chatted back and forth, seemingly getting along very well.

This left her somewhat dazed.
