Chapter 188 Preparation

Since the emperor has given me three days, I will give him a gift. After reading the letter written by the staff, the third prince nodded to indicate that it was okay.

After the staff left, the Third Prince thought of his mother, who had been sentenced to death by his father, and his current situation. He grew increasingly dissatisfied with the Emperor. He looked up and ordered his personal servant, "Go, call everyone to the study."

All night long, the lights in the study in the outer courtyard of the Third Prince's Mansion remained on.

The third prince's wife hugged her two sons and cried all night. The thought of being separated from such young sons made her heart ache as if it were being cut by a knife.

After receiving the Third Prince's letter outside the palace, Lord Jiang sat alone in his room for a long time before finally replying. At dawn, Lord Jiang said to his wife, "Don't you always say you want to go back to your parents' home? Why not take the children back tomorrow?"

Mrs. Jiang was also the daughter of an official. She felt something was wrong when she heard that and asked tentatively, "Is it the prince's wife who is asking something?"

Looking at Madam Jiang, who had not yet heard the news, Lord Jiang shook his head and said, "If anything goes wrong with the princess, my daughter won't be bullied as long as I'm here."

Seeing Mr. Jiang's firm words, Mrs. Jiang believed them. She also felt that leaving tomorrow was too hasty, so she said, "Why not leave in seven days? Tomorrow is too hasty."

Lord Jiang pulled his wife over and said, "Do you still remember your mother-in-law's birthday? If you leave in seven days, you may not be able to make it." After Lord Jiang said this, Mrs. Jiang remembered that her mother's birthday was indeed very close.

Mrs. Jiang smiled shyly and said, "Sir, you are so kind to me. Thank you very much."

Mr. Jiang lowered his head, a trace of reluctance flashing across his eyes, and then replaced with determination. He looked up and said to Mrs. Jiang, "My wife, I am truly satisfied to have you as my wife."

The two chatted for a while, and then Mrs. Jiang went to pack her things. Mr. Jiang returned to his study, called the two of them over, explained the matters, and sat at his desk until dark.

At the Third Prince's residence, the Third Prince's wife was also packing. For the past two days, she had taken her sons with her wherever she went, and today was no exception. However, the Third Prince sent someone to take the two sons away. The Third Prince's wife was reluctant at first, but thinking about the long journey ahead, she thought the Third Prince probably couldn't bear to leave his sons behind, so she nodded in agreement.

However, even after dark, the Third Prince still hadn't returned with his son. After anxiously pacing around the room for a while, the Third Prince's wife headed towards the outer courtyard. The outer courtyard seemed different than usual. The road was brightly lit everywhere, illuminating the entire courtyard like daylight.

She searched the main house in the outer courtyard but couldn't find her son. She asked everyone but no one knew where he was. Outside the study, the Third Prince's wife was stopped.

After a while, the Third Prince came out of the study and asked, "What are you doing here?"

The Third Prince's wife replied softly, "Your Highness, I didn't see my child come back, so I came here to look for him."

The third prince, with his hands behind his back, scolded unhappily: "Go back to your yard and don't come out." After saying that, he turned around and prepared to go back to the study.

The Third Prince, who received no answer, asked anxiously, "Your Highness, where are the two children? I will take the children back and will not disturb you here."

The Third Prince, who had just turned around, glanced coldly at the Third Prince's wife and said, "The child is in a safe place. You don't need to look for her anymore. Go back."

What safe place? The Third Prince's wife's heart suddenly pounded. After thinking of a possibility, the Third Prince's wife looked at the closed door in front of her, her heart as dead as death.
