When Aunt Chun was being interrogated, several guards who had entered the cave had already searched the cave thoroughly. There was no trace of the two children inside, but there were several animal traps on the ground.
Several people speculated that Aunt Chun deliberately led Xu Wen to the front of the cave, perhaps trying to trick Xu Wen into entering the cave, and the trap was prepared for Xu Wen.

After the two learned that the two children were at Zhao Si's house, they turned their horses around and were led by the captain of the guards to Zhao Si's house.
When the tied-up Concubine Chun saw Sheng Huairen coming on horseback, she screamed in excitement, but Sheng Huairen didn't even look at her from beginning to end.
The group hurried to Zhao Si's house. After entering the courtyard, the guard knocked on the woodshed door, but there was no movement. Looking at the new lock, he didn't dare kick it open for fear of hurting the two children. He could only drag Chun Niang out. As soon as the guard took out the whip, Chun Niang pointed to the ground. The door creaked open, and in the corner of the woodshed, two children lay snuggling together. Xu Wen stepped forward to check their breathing and pulse, then breathed a sigh of relief.
Without waiting for Xu Wen to move, Sheng Huairen stepped forward and said to Xu Wen, "You go out first, I'll carry the child out." He carried Sheng Shu out and said to Master Yu, "Go, carry Xingge'er out."
The children were carried back to the manor. The old woman who knew medicine came forward and took the pulse of the two children. "Master and Madam, the young master has been drugged. He is expected to wake up before dinner."

Xu Wen stood up and ordered, "Please come to the flower hall to talk, sir."
Lin Jiaoniang stayed in the house, while Xu Wen, Sheng Huairen and Lord Yu went to the flower hall.
"I am honored that Lord Li has come here in person." Sheng Huairen, Lord Yu and Lord Li of Shuntian Prefecture bowed to each other, and Xu Wen bent over and made a blessing gesture.
After taking a seat, Sheng Huairen said, "I am truly grateful for the trouble, Lord Li, to come here."
The maid brought tea, and Lord Li replied, "This is my duty. How are the two children?"
Sheng Huairen replied, "The two children were found this afternoon. Doctor Yang came to check their pulses and they are fine." Then he said awkwardly, "To be honest, today's incident was a family disaster."
After sending the servants away, Sheng Huairen continued, "She was originally a concubine who was sold. I never thought that she was unwilling to give up and actually did such a vicious act." Then he took out the confession from his sleeve and walked over to hand it to Lord Li.
After taking the confession and reading it, Lord Li stroked his beard and said, "If it is a family matter, I can't interfere." He turned around and ordered his men to go and interrogate Concubine Chun.
