Chapter 51 A Person in Confusion
Zhou Yan lay on the bed but couldn't fall asleep.
Because the whole bed smells of sweet strawberries.
It smells like Lin Xu.
Zhou Yan, who rarely smokes in bed, lit up his umpteenth cigarette since last night.
He leaned against the headboard, recalling the kiss last night and the throbbing mood he felt at that time.
Lin Xu's behavior can be explained as drunken promiscuity, and he regarded himself as his ex-girlfriend.
What about him? He was clearly awake, so why did he respond then...
Zhou Yan pinched his eyebrows weakly.
Outside, Chen Jinhe finished taking a shower and said something to Lin Xu, but was immediately stopped by Lin Xu.
Zhou Yan heard him say, "Brother Zhou is sleeping, don't make any noise."
A few minutes later, Lin Xu took Chen Jinhe away.
Zhou Yan collapsed on the bed and didn't know how long it took before he fell asleep.
Lin Xu didn't drive Zhou Yan's car.
I went out to have dinner with Chen Jinhe and sent him to the subway entrance.
Then I bought some shrimp wontons that I could cook myself, and prepared to wait for Zhou Yan to wake up and cook them for him.
Lin Xu tiptoed back home and found Zhou Yan's room door was still closed.
He didn't disturb Zhou Yan either.
I felt bad for not letting him sleep well all night, and I also had to trouble him to take care of myself and Chen Jinhe.
Lin Xu felt a little guilty. He thought drinking had caused trouble and he must not drink so much next time.
Chen Jinhe slept in his own bed last night without even taking a shower, and now the bed reeks of alcohol.
Lin Xu changed the bed sheets and quilt covers, put them in the washing machine to wash, and cleaned the living room and bathroom.
Then I sat in the living room with my computer and worked.
The design drawings made for Mr. Feng have reached the second version.
After reading the first version, Mr. Feng made some adjustments. Lin Xu estimated that with their communication efficiency, he would be satisfied within three versions.
The project with Tengqiu has reached the final stage, and now it is a bit tricky.
Lin Xu clipped up the loose hair on his forehead and drew seriously.
Zhou Yan actually didn't sleep for long.
He suffered from severe insomnia for a while, and it was only after Lin Xu moved in that things got better.
Now I have something on my mind and my sleep system has broken down again.
The living room was quiet, and Zhou Yan was not sure whether Lin Xu had returned.
He sat on the edge of the bed for a long time before getting up to open the door.
It turned out that Lin Xu was at home.
The sound of the washing machine's impeller turning and the fragrance of detergent filled the room. Lin Xu sat on the carpet, hugging a pillow, wearing headphones and drawing seriously on the computer.
Zhou Yan leaned against the door, staring at Lin Xu's back in a daze for a while.
Lin Xu was so focused on the work in his hands, and the noise isolation of his headphones was so good that he didn't even notice that he had woken up.
I don’t know what music was playing in his headphones, but it must have been a cheerful tune, because he shook his head while working, and the tuft of hair clipped on top of his head bounced up and down.
This silly kid has no idea what earth-shattering thing he did last night. If I tell him, he will probably scream in fright, right?
But now he was the only one who remembered this incident, and it was too much for him to be so upset.
Zhou Yan was both angry and amused. He shook his head and went to take a shower.
Only after the bathroom door closed did Lin Xu vaguely feel some movement around him.
I looked up at Zhou Yan's door and saw it was already open.
He quickly took off his headphones and heard the sound of water in the bathroom, only then did he realize that Zhou Yan had gotten up.
Lin Xu put down his headphones, got up and went to the kitchen to cook wontons for Zhou Yan.
The wontons are ready-made and the soup base packets are also packaged.
Just boil water and cook the wontons.
Lin Xu is not very good at cooking, and Zhou Yan doesn't give him room to improve.
Today, Lin Xu felt grateful and apologetic. It was also the first time he cooked for Zhou Yan, so he wanted to do it well.
When Zhou Yan came out of the shower, he smelled the aroma of food.
Lin Xu was standing in front of the stove wearing an apron, cooking something.
Zhou Yan strode over: "What are you cooking?"
Lin Xu pointed to the pot and said, "I packed some shrimp wontons when I went out this morning."
Zhou Yan was wearing the same style of pajamas as hers, but in a different color. Lin Xu couldn't help but think that they were a couple's pair.
She was shy and a little happy at the same time. She was too guilty to look at Zhou Yan and pretended to be busy.
The wontons are almost cooked.
The thin dough reveals the orange-red shrimp meat, which is full of freshness and fragrance.
Zhou Yan hadn't eaten anything all morning and was really hungry now.
Lin Xu took a spoonful of the soup and tasted it for saltiness, then narrowed his eyes in satisfaction. "I think it's pretty good. You can try it later."
Zhou Yan's gaze fell on his lips moistened by the soup.
He still clearly remembers the feeling of their touching.
Zhou Yan's Adam's apple rolled, and he raised his hand to touch the back of Lin Xu's neck.
"Are you hungry? You didn't eat much last night, and you slept until now. You'll be well soon."
As Lin Xu spoke, he reached for the cupboard and took a bowl to fill with wontons for him.
Zhou Yan's hand stopped in mid-air, he clenched his fist and then retracted it.
Go to the side and get the cutlery.
Lin Xu packed the wontons, sprinkled them with chopped green onions, and prepared to serve them to the table.
"Let me do it, I won't burn you." Zhou Yan pushed Lin Xu away and brought the bowl to the dining table himself.
Lin Xu followed, bent over the table, held his chin with his hand, looked at Zhou Yan, and urged: "Try it quickly and see if it tastes good."
Zhou Yan looked at his big eyes full of expectation, and unconsciously moved his gaze to his lips.
That feeling of blood rushing up came again.
It's really like I'm possessed by an evil spirit.
Zhou Yan quickly lowered his head to taste it and nodded: "It's delicious."
"Hey, that's fine. Go ahead and eat. I'll get back to work."
"Don't you want to eat?" Zhou Yan asked.
"I've eaten. I brought this back specially for you. Thank you for bothering you so much yesterday." Lin Xu thanked him sincerely.
Zhou Yan looked at him, unable to express any of the confusion and resentment in his heart.
She raised her hand and touched his head: "It's no trouble, don't feel bad. Besides, this bowl of wontons is enough to offset it, go get busy."
"good."
Lin Xu returned to the coffee table, hung the headphones around his neck and continued working.
Before Zhou Yan had time to figure out his own chaotic throes, he went on a business trip.
He left on Tuesday and hadn't returned on Friday.
Before leaving, he went to the supermarket and bought some long-lasting food and put it in the refrigerator, in case Lin Xu didn't eat well and he could eat it whenever he was hungry.
Lin Xu was suddenly left alone in the empty room, squatting on the balcony bored and recording the growth of his plants.
Zhou Yan's balcony design, which is similar to a greenhouse, provides these plants with a good living environment.
Even plants that are difficult to bloom have produced flower buds.
When Lin Xu discovered it, he was very surprised and took photos to share with Zhou Yan.
Zhou Yan was having lunch with a client when the mobile phone screen on the table lit up.
It’s news from Lin Xu.
When I clicked on it, I saw a photo of a plant. It was a small plant, but it had a flower bud.
Zhou Yan didn’t understand any of this and didn’t know what was so special about this plant. He just smiled because Lin Xu shared this daily routine with him.
Miss Wu, who was sitting next to him, caught a glimpse of the photo out of the corner of her eye. It was just a plant, so why did it make Zhou Yan suddenly so happy?
