Chapter 6 Care

Chapter 6 Care

Lin Xu woke up at dawn the next day.

It took me a while to realize that I was in the hospital.

Lin Xu went through the messy memories of last night in his mind and grasped two key points.

One was because he didn't clean up and was scolded by Zhou Yan.

One was because he fainted and was carried to the hospital by Zhou Yan.

The protagonist in the memory is now sleeping beside him.

Lin Xu moved and found that Zhou Yan's hand was on his thigh.

Lin Xu didn't dare to move.

He was wearing only a pair of shorts, and his hands were placed directly on his flesh.

He didn't feel anything before he noticed it, but after he noticed it, he could clearly feel the heat from Zhou Yan's palm on his leg.

The last time I filmed him at the back, it was just as hot.

Zhou Yan's palm was very warm.

But why does he sleep in this position? ! !

Lin Xu, whose fever had subsided, almost got heated up again.

Perhaps he was too excited, and his frantic heartbeat stimulated the arteries in his legs, waking Zhou Yan up.

When Zhou Yan opened his eyes, he met Lin Xu's big eyes.

"You're awake. How do you feel now?" Zhou Yan asked as he sat up straight, and his hand naturally took its leave of Lin Xu's leg.

Lin Xu cleared his throat: "Much better, what's wrong with me?"

"Heatstroke, plus a little hypoglycemia." Zhou Yan felt relieved when he saw the light in Lin Xu's eyes again.

He patted Lin Xu's leg again: "You scared me to death last night. I thought I had just hired a roommate, and he died so quickly."

Lin Xu was photographed with his teeth bared.

Zhou Yan thought he had been too rough, so he quickly rubbed his skin again: "Does it hurt? I'm sorry."

"No, no." Lin Xu quickly pulled his legs back into the bed. Who could withstand such slapping and kneading?

But when he moved his legs, he felt a sharp pain in his knee.

"Hiss——" Lin Xu then realized that he was injured.

I half-raised myself and saw a large swelling on my knee.

Zhou Yan explained to him, "You hit your knee on the toilet last night when you were vomiting in the bathroom. The doctor said you needed ice, and I've been using ice packs on you for most of the night."

So that's why Zhou Yan's hand was on his leg.

Lin Xu felt warm in his heart: "Thank you, for carrying me to the hospital and taking care of me."

He thanked me sincerely.

The two of them were not related, they were just landlord and tenant, so Zhou Yan could completely ignore himself.

Even if he was afraid that something might happen to me and I could just go to the hospital, he actually stayed with me all night.

"I'm sorry, I haven't been in a good mood lately and I didn't clean up after myself. I will abide by our previous agreement in the future."

Lin Xu lowered his head and apologized to Zhou Yan.

Zhou Yan's anger had subsided yesterday.

If Lin Xu had told him earlier that he was not feeling well, he would not have gotten angry at her.

It's just cleaning. He has to clean up when he lives alone.

Zhou Yan is not a petty person, and he has the straightforward nature of a Northeastern man. He just wants to talk things out.

He raised his hand and ruffled Lin Xu's messy hair: "Okay, I shouldn't keep nagging about this. I'll call the doctor, and I'll take you home if you're okay."

After Zhou Yan finished speaking, he walked out of the ward to call the doctor.

Lin Xu straightened her hair that had just been messed up by Zhou Yan. The corners of her lips couldn't help but curl up, and her ears turned red.

He knew that there was nothing wrong with Zhou Yan, a straight man, doing these things.

But he couldn't help but feel warmed by the warmth emanating from Zhou Yan.

Zhou Yan came back quickly and brought the doctor on duty.

The doctor checked Lin Xu's physical condition.

"You can go home now. Get more rest, replenish your nutrition, and take precautions against heatstroke in the next two days," the doctor advised.

"Thank you, doctor." Lin Xu thanked the doctor.

The doctor glanced at Zhou Yan and said, "You should thank your brother. Heatstroke can be a serious matter, but it's only because he brought you here in the middle of the night that you recovered so quickly."

Lin Xu wanted to explain, but Zhou Yan had already sent the doctor out.

After returning, Zhou Yan saw Lin Xu moving under the bed by himself, and he grimaced as soon as his leg with injured knee touched the ground.

Zhou Yan strode over and supported him: "I'll carry you."

"Ah? No, no need. I can walk on my own without any broken bones."

Zhou Yan didn't waste time talking to him. He turned around and bent down with his back to him.

"Come on up, I carried you here this way last night, it's okay."

"Then...thank you."

Lin Xu looked at Zhou Yan's broad back, hesitated for two seconds, and then climbed up.

Zhou Yan straightened up, held up Lin Xu's legs, lifted him onto his back, adjusted his posture, and then carried Lin Xu out in such a graceful manner.

Although Lin Xu's heatstroke symptoms have eased, he is still weak.

Zhou Yan's back felt so comfortable that he couldn't help but stretch out his arms and put them around Zhou Yan's neck, then lay obediently on Zhou Yan's back.

Zhou Yan teased him: "You are so weak now, it's a good time to play the victim to your girlfriend and ask for help, why don't you tell her?"

Lin Xu half-closed his eyes and muttered, "What? Where did I get a girlfriend?"

No girlfriend? Then who was he trying to coax on the phone that day?

Although hearing Lin Xu talking on the phone that day was an accident and it didn't count as eavesdropping, it was still a bad thing to do since it involved other people's privacy.

Zhou Yan didn't ask any further questions.

After driving Lin Xu back home and putting her in the second bedroom, Zhou Yan said he wanted to take a shower and change clothes.

Fortunately, today is Saturday and he doesn't have to go to work. He has an appointment with a client to play ball in the afternoon and can take care of Lin Xu in the morning.

Lin Xu still remembered that Zhou Yan was angry yesterday because there was garbage piled up in the house.

Zhou Yan was so nice to him, but he didn't keep his promise. Lin Xu felt a little guilty.

She moved from the bedroom to the living room and continued to clean up what Zhou Yan had not finished yesterday.

When Zhou Yan came out of the shower, he saw Lin Xu packing things in the living room. He was so scared that he rushed over to stop him.

"Didn't you hear the doctor tell you to rest more? Why are you cleaning this up?"

Lin Xu pouted and said, "Brother Zhou, this is all the garbage I created. I should clean it up. I'm sorry."

Those big watery eyes looked at Zhou Yan, full of apology, and looked extremely pitiful.

Zhou Yan was so angry that he almost laughed: "Brother, am I wrong? I really didn't know you were not feeling well yesterday. Go back and lie down quickly. If you faint again, I will have to send you back to the hospital. Then you will really be sorry for my busy night yesterday."

As Zhou Yan spoke, he pulled Lin Xu up and sent him back to the bedroom. He felt relieved only after seeing him lie down.

"If you feel uncomfortable, just sleep a little longer. I won't be out until the afternoon. I'll make you something to eat now. Don't eat instant noodles all the time. No wonder you have low blood sugar."

"Brother Zhou." Lin Xu stopped Zhou Yan. "I haven't paid for the medical expenses yet. How much is it? I'll transfer it to you."

Zhou Yan didn't plan to take it either. He saw that Lin Xu was in financial trouble, so ordering takeout would be better than eating instant noodles for three days.

But if he didn't accept it, Lin Xu wouldn't feel at ease, and he might even be embarrassed to eat.

Zhou Yan took out the bill from his coat pocket and handed it to him: "That's all. Transfer it. Let me make it clear, I won't accept any more money."

"Then there's also money for meals. I've eaten at your place so many times—"

Zhou Yan smiled: "If you really want to calculate it so clearly, that's fine. I'll carry you up and down the stairs for a long time, and you should carry me back for a long time."

Knowing that Zhou Yan was teasing him in this way, Lin Xu was grateful that Zhou Yan had taken care of his self-esteem. He looked up and said to him, "Thank you, Brother Zhou."

Zhou Yan felt a little itchy when he saw his big eyes looking at him, like a puppy, and couldn't help but raise his hand to rub his hair: "Okay, I'll go cook."

At this time, Lin Xu suddenly said something without thinking.

"I want to take a shower."
