Finally, Ni Sitian's lips were bright red, swollen and slightly protruding, just like a red cherry.
After Xu Tingchuan led her into the main house, Xu Jiayue's eyes lingered between the two of them with an ambiguous look, and she winked at Ni Sitian.
Ni Sitian was extremely embarrassed. She glared at Xu Tingchuan reproachfully and pinched his palm. It was all his fault. Even though she had already told him, he still kept kissing her as if he wanted to devour her. They almost got carried away.
"You've arrived." Jin Rulan came in from outside, carrying a bouquet of flowers.
Xu Tingchuan called out "Mom," and Ni Sitian followed suit. Although she didn't remember, it seemed like her body had an instinct, and she was used to calling out the name, so it didn't feel awkward at all.
Jin Rulan had previously heard Xu Jiayue mention Ni Sitian's situation and scolded her for keeping such a big thing from the two siblings.
"Sitian, could you help Mom trim these and put them in that vase?" Jin Rulan asked casually, not wanting Ni Sitian to feel estranged from the family.
Ni Sitian nodded obediently and walked over to take the flowers from Jin Rulan's hand.
Xu Jiayue answered a phone call and ran out. Xu Tingchuan walked over to Ni Sitian and helped her trim her hair.
Jin Rulan guessed that Xu Jiayue must have gone outside to pick up Han Shizhao, so she had the servants prepare tea.
Xu Haicheng came down from the study upstairs, dressed in a sharp suit.
"Are you going out?" Jin Rulan frowned slightly. Today, her daughter was officially bringing her boyfriend home, and they would likely discuss marriage.
"No, I'm just meeting Jia Yue's boyfriend." Xu Haicheng straightened his tie, looking ready for anything.
Jin Rulan was taken aback. She had never seen Xu Tingchuan so formal when he brought Ni Sitian back before.
“Girls are meant to be married off, unlike boys who are brought into the family,” Xu Haicheng said with a smile, adjusting his cufflinks.
Jin Rulan understood what he meant, walked over and straightened his collar clip, her expression still indifferent.
"Aru..." Xu Haicheng was excited and wanted to hold her hand. She hadn't been this close to him in so many years.
"Don't overthink it." Jin Rulan straightened up, let go of his hand, took two steps back, and seeing that his clothes were okay, turned around and went to the kitchen.
Xu Haicheng's hand awkwardly froze in mid-air before he sheepishly withdrew it.
Xu Tingchuan saw this scene and shook his head helplessly. His mother could forgive his years of filial impiety and aloofness because he was her son, but something as trivial as infidelity... given his mother's proud personality, it might be difficult for her to forgive him in this lifetime, especially since his father had forced him into marriage.
"Oh dear, you've cut all the flowers off." Ni Sitian glared at Xu Tingchuan.
He was holding a flower branch in his hand, but one of the blooming flowers fell onto the table.
Xu Tingchuan snapped out of his daze, looked down, and picked up the flower.
"It's all your fault! This one was the best blooming, what a pity," Ni Sitian complained.
“It’s no pity,” Xu Tingchuan said, pinching the flower and casually placing it in Ni Sitian’s bun, his eyes smiling. “It looks best here.”
Ni Sitian blushed instantly. She had recently noticed that Xu Tingchuan was aloof to outsiders, but a completely different person at home, incredibly warm and affectionate. Moreover, although he seemed serious and rigid, he was surprisingly good at flirting, just like now, making her heart flutter.
"Hurry up and cut it." She was too shy to say anything, so she lowered her head and pretended to be busy to cover up her embarrassment.
Xu Tingchuan smiled, did not expose her, and helped her trim the flower branches and put them into the vase.
