They kept talking until they were exhausted and weary, and then they gradually drifted off to sleep.
Something good must have happened in their dreams, because the corners of their mouths both curved slightly.
The next day, Xu Tingchuan woke up and, not seeing Ni Sitian, panicked and called out urgently.
Ni Sitian poked her head out of the bathroom with a toothbrush in her mouth and mumbled, "Why are you shouting so early in the morning?"
Xu Tingchuan got out of bed, quickly walked over, and embraced her.
After losing it and getting it back, I'm especially afraid of losing it again; I've developed a feeling of being anxious about losing it.
"Mmm..." Ni Sitian rubbed foam all over his chest. She pulled out her toothbrush, quickly pushed him away, and scolded, "Do you want to swallow toothpaste?"
Xu Tingchuan laughed when he saw her mouth full of spit. It was wonderful. She was alive and well, standing in front of him with a mix of joy and anger. It seemed like there was nothing better in the world.
"Ugh..." Ni Sitian felt like vomiting after holding the foam in her mouth for too long, so she quickly ran back to the bathroom, washed off the foam, and dry heaved in the sink.
Xu Tingchuan went in and gently patted her back. Her pregnancy reaction period hadn't passed yet, and she was still experiencing morning sickness recently.
Ni Sitian vomited for a while, tears welling up in her eyes, and her nose turned red, making her look very pitiful.
"Let's not have a second child, it's too much suffering," Xu Tingchuan said, patting her with concern.
After washing her face with water, Ni Sitian looked up at Xu Tingchuan and pouted, "I want a second child."
Xu Tingchuan smiled, she still looked like a child herself, yet she was really about to become a mother. "Okay, let's have a second child. I'll try my best."
Ni Sitian blushed slightly. It was as if he hadn't tried hard enough. She was worried that if he kept going, he would suffer from kidney deficiency.
After washing up, the two went downstairs to have breakfast.
Xu Haicheng and Xu Jiayue were already sitting there eating breakfast.
"Dad, Jiayue." Ni Sitian greeted him with a natural smile.
Xu Tingchuan pulled out a chair for her to sit down. Xu Jiayue stared at Ni Sitian's face for a while and said, "Sitian, you seem different."
Ni Sitian was taken aback for a moment, then smiled and looked at her with narrowed eyes: "You really have sharp eyes."
This relaxed and familiar attitude...
Xu Jiayue's eyes lit up, and she boldly guessed, "Sister-in-law, you've regained your memory?"
Ni Sitian smiled and winked, indicating her agreement.
"This is such a wonderful surprise!" Xu Jiayue was overjoyed. Then, seeing that Xu Haicheng was lost in thought, she called out, "Dad, my sister-in-law has regained her memory."
"Ah, oh, that's wonderful." Xu Haicheng snapped out of his reverie and smiled.
Xu Jiayue and Ni Sitian exchanged glances, finding Xu Haicheng acting strangely today.
"Why did you suddenly remember that? In TV dramas, it's always the car accident or a head injury that happens before you recover," Xu Jiayue asked Ni Sitian curiously, ignoring Xu Haicheng.
Xu Tingchuan reached out and flicked her forehead, "Watch less of these messy TV dramas in the future."
"You value men over women, I was just asking, wasn't I?" Xu Jiayu muttered, rubbing the redness on his forehead.
Even if he were to ask, Xu Tingchuan didn't like the way she described regaining memories. If it meant causing that kind of harm, he would rather Ni Sitian not regain her memories at all.
"Alright, you two." Ni Sitian smiled at the brother and sister and put a fried egg in each of their bowls.
Just as they were enjoying themselves, Jin Rulan came downstairs. When she saw Xu Haicheng, her expression froze for a moment, and she stopped, wondering whether she should turn back upstairs.
