Ni Sitian chuckled and pouted, "You're so domineering."
Xu Tingchuan rested his chin on her shoulder, gently nuzzling her neck, and said in a deep, gentle voice, "Ni Sitian, let's live a good life together."
She was puzzled by this; hadn't they been living a good life together all along?
"I mean, like a normal married couple," Xu Tingchuan added when he saw her blank expression.
Upon hearing this, Ni Sitian mistakenly thought he was implying that they were going to have sex, and her ears turned red. She stammered, "But we'll have to wait until you've recovered from your illness."
Xu Tingchuan paused for a moment, then realized she had misunderstood and couldn't help but chuckle.
The "normal couple" he refers to is one where he hopes the couple can think of each other, stay in touch, and get to know each other better.
However, since that's how she understood it, he didn't intend to explain further.
Seeing her shy expression, he couldn't resist teasing her even more, and breathed into her reddened ear: "Stomach ache won't affect that."
Ni Sitian was startled by his words, her face flushed red, and she stammered even more, "Do you mean to do this here?"
Xu Tingchuan looked at her face, which was almost cooked, buried his face in her shoulder, and chuckled softly.
Ni Sitian realized he was teasing her, clenched her little fist, and playfully punched his chest.
Xu Tingchuan grabbed her hand and turned her from his embrace to face him.
He pressed his forehead against hers, a slight smile playing on his lips, and said in a deep, magnetic voice, "After we're discharged from the hospital, hmm?"
The "hmm" at the end of his sentence was meaningful, and Ni Sitian clearly understood the meaning behind his words.
Actually, before he went on his business trip, she had promised him that she would give herself to him when he returned.
Refusing to procrastinate now would seem too pretentious.
Her cheeks were flushed, her eyelashes were lowered, and she dared not look at him. She felt that her whole body was burning hot.
"Mmm." After she answered, she was so shy that she buried her face in his chest.
Xu Tingchuan's chest trembled slightly, and he let out a pleasant laugh.
He held Ni Sitian tightly in his arms, inhaling her delicate fragrance.
The setting sun slanted in through the window, creating a peaceful and beautiful atmosphere that one was reluctant to disturb.
But some people just don't know their place and push the door open without knocking.
Ni Sitian quickly broke free from Xu Tingchuan's embrace. When she saw that the person who came was Xu Tingchuan's mother, Ms. Jin Rulan, she immediately stood up straight by the bed with her legs together, tidied her messy hair, and bowed to her: "Hello, Auntie."
It's no wonder she was so nervous; Ms. Jin Rulan was simply too dignified, and she couldn't help but feel respect in her presence.
"Auntie?" Jin Rulan pushed up her gold-rimmed glasses and said to Xu Tingchuan in a somewhat stern tone, "Haven't you taught her how to address me properly yet?"
When she first met Ni Sitian, she called her "Auntie." Now, two months have passed, and there has been no progress at all, which makes her very dissatisfied.
"Sitian." Xu Tingchuan reached out, took her hand, and squeezed her palm to try to relax her.
Ni Sitian realized what was happening and awkwardly called out, "Mom."
Jin Rulan nodded and said calmly, "Still not composed enough."
Xu Tingchuan frowned, disliking her criticism of Ni Sitian in such a tone, and said, "Not everyone has to live such a rigid life."
Ni Sitian was a little surprised and touched that he would defend her like this in front of his mother. However, she was also a little worried. It seemed that Ms. Jin Rulan already disliked her very much. Would this make her even more dissatisfied with her?
