Xu Tingchuan closed the document and handed it to Lin Yi'an, saying, "That's enough for today. You can go back now."
Lin Yi'an gathered up the documents, bowed slightly, and prepared to leave the ward.
"Wait a minute," Xu Tingchuan looked up at Lin Yi'an and said calmly, "Let Secretary Xue come tomorrow."
Lin Yi'an was somewhat taken aback. He wanted to ask her what she had done wrong, but he didn't dare to. No one could disobey his orders. She lowered her head and bit her lip. "Yes."
Xu Tingchuan didn't say anything more, and Lin Yi'an reluctantly left the ward.
After watching her leave, Ni Sitian asked Xu Tingchuan, puzzled, "Why did you let someone else take over Secretary Lin's work? Did she do something wrong?"

Lin Yi'an stood outside the door, listening to Xu Tingchuan and Ni Sitian's conversation. She bit her lip, clenched her fists so tightly that her nails almost dug into her palms, and the veins on the back of her hands bulged slightly.
She originally thought that the special assistant position was hers for the taking. She had worked by Xu Tingchuan's side for three years, rising from secretary assistant to secretary. She considered herself to be an excellent worker, but Xu Tingchuan always valued Xue Zhichun more, and when he went on business trips or social events, he would bring Special Assistant Feng and Xue Zhichun with him.
