When the man turned to face her, she finally understood why the man who had brought her there was just a subordinate.
Although this man had already concealed his sharpness, the strong aura he exuded was impossible to hide. He looked to be only twenty-six or twenty-seven years old, but his presence made people forget his age, especially his pair of dark eyes, which seemed to hold the universe in their hearts, as if he had everything under control.
Ni Sitian stared blankly for a moment before looking away. The feeling this man gave her wasn't one of danger, but rather of strangeness.
"What I want is..." The man's hand rested on the table, relaxed and calm. His dark eyes looked at her, and he slowly uttered a single word: "You."
Ni Sitian wondered if she was hallucinating. She was a married woman five months pregnant. What had he just said?
"Sir, you must be joking." Ni Sitian forced a smile and put down the document in her hand.
“I’m not joking. I want you to come with me to America.” The man’s eyes were fixed on Ni Sitian’s face, as if there were some flower on her face. He looked at her very carefully.
“I have no intention of betraying myself, so I will not accompany you.” Ni Sitian turned and walked towards the door.
“Then tomorrow morning, I will have this place bulldozed.” The man’s voice remained steady, as if he was not angry at Ni Sitian’s refusal.
Ni Sitian stopped in her tracks, her brows furrowed slightly, and she glanced back at the man.
The man stood up, walked slowly to Ni Sitian's side, looked down at her, and said, "What I want to do is not what you think. I just want to take you to meet someone. This house was originally bought for you by that person. It's not unreasonable to go see that person as a way of thanking them, is it?"
"I don't understand what you're saying at all, but I don't like this game of hiding my true intentions. I'll be leaving now." Ni Sitian nodded politely and then stepped out of the study.
"My name is Li Yinan," the man told Ni Sitian as she walked away.
Ni Sitian didn't look back and walked downstairs.
Li Yinan watched as Ni Sitian carefully walked down the steps, his long eyes narrowing slightly, a glint of light flashing within them.
The child in the wheelchair pushed himself out of the next room, looked at Li Yinan's expression, and said, "Why doesn't brother just tell who misses sister?"
"I'm afraid even if we say we'll tie her up, we won't be able to." Li Yinan shook his head, patted Li Yinuo's head, and said, "Yinuo, you should go back to your room and rest."
Li Yinuo nodded obediently, turned her wheelchair towards the room at the end, and before opening the door to go in, she suddenly turned back to look at Li Yinan and said, "Second sister said that tomorrow's plane will arrive here."
A hint of headache flashed across Li Yinan's usually composed face, which Li Yinuo found delightful: "Second sister said she's determined to win this time."
"Arno, go back to your room," Li Yinan said in a deep voice.
Li Yinuo opened the door and went in. Li Yinan had a terrible headache just thinking about Li Yiqing coming tomorrow. He frowned and went back to the study.
Ni Sitian carefully descended the stairs and immediately saw Xu Tingchuan, so she walked towards him right away.
"Where did you go just now?" Ni Sitian asked immediately. If she hadn't been downstairs and hadn't missed him, she wouldn't have been tricked into coming upstairs.
"I went to chat with Professor Tan in the courtyard for a bit, and when I came back you weren't here." Xu Tingchuan glanced at the stairs and said, "You went up?"
“I’ve met the homeowner.” Ni Sitian felt it wasn’t convenient to discuss this here, so she simply said, “Let’s go back first.”
