“You’re still a child at heart,” Ni Sitian said with a smile, looking at her chubby little face.
“No way, Sister Ni, you’re not much older than me, and you’re about to have a baby and become a mother.” After ordering, Li Yiqing continued, “I’ll be eighteen in two months, which means I can choose to get married in our state.”
Ni Sitian smiled and thought to herself that Li Yiqing grew up in the United States, and in most states in the United States, men and women can indeed get a marriage certificate if they are 18 years old or older. If they are 16 years old or older but under 18, they need their parents' consent to get a marriage certificate.
"Why are girls in such a hurry to grow up? Isn't it better to enjoy a few more years of youth?" Ni Sitian took a sip of juice and smiled faintly at Li Yiqing.
"Of course I'm worried, he'll be snatched away." Li Yiqing pouted, looking somewhat troubled.
"You have someone you like?" Ni Sitian found it amusing. Seventeen or eighteen is the age when girls first fall in love, and their feelings are bittersweet, just like she had experienced.
"Yes, there is." Li Yiqing didn't hide anything. She looked at Ni Sitian more closely and, remembering Mr. Xu she had seen at the hospital that day, asked a little shyly, "This question may be a bit presumptuous, but I would like to ask, Sister Ni, how many years apart are you and your husband?"
Ni Sitian smiled, there was no point in hiding it, and said directly, "Ten years old."
"You're ten years apart? That's great!" Li Yiqing seemed quite pleased, a slight smile playing on her lips. "Let's see what excuse he'll use to reject me now."
"Has your crush ever rejected you because of the age difference?" Ni Sitian became increasingly curious about what her crush looked like.
"Not just that, but this is his most common excuse. He says that a three-year age difference is a generation gap, and that he and I have a three-generation gap. I see that you and your husband get along very well and are very loving. Age is clearly not a problem."
Ni Sitian was stunned. So Li Yiqing was nine years younger than her sweetheart. But it didn't seem to be a matter of how many years apart they were, but rather that seventeen was too young.
"Sister Ni, to be honest, I'm here in Yihai this time with a firm resolve to win him over." Li Yiqing was full of fighting spirit.
This fearless spirit of a newborn calf made Ni Sitian smile; this was much braver than when she was seventeen or eighteen.
However, Ni Sitian asked curiously, "Is your sweetheart in Yihai City?"
“Yes, Sister Ni, you’ve met him before.” Li Yiqing looked at her with clear eyes and said frankly, “It’s Brother Yinan.”
"Pfft." Ni Sitian was drinking juice when she sprayed it out and choked.
Li Yiqing immediately came over and patted her, asking with concern, "Sister Ni, are you alright?"
Ni Sitian coughed for a while, her eyes reddening, and stared at Li Yiqing with wide eyes: "You want to take down your brother?"
Isn't this ***?!
“Yes.” Seeing Ni Sitian’s incredulous expression, Li Yiqing knew she had misunderstood and hurriedly explained, “Li Yinan is not my biological brother. We have no blood relation. I was adopted by the Li family.”
In fact, it wasn't even adoption; she wasn't registered in the Li family's household register, and she was already five years old when she entered the Li family.
"I see." Ni Sitian calmed down and saw that Li Yiqing didn't mind at all that she was adopted. This optimistic nature was exactly the same as Xiang Zhilan's.
"Sister Ni, do you think I'm a good match for Brother Yinan?" Li Yiqing looked at Ni Sitian with great anticipation.
Not wanting to hurt the young girl's feelings, Ni Sitian compromised by saying, "In this world, there is no such thing as being a good match or not, only liking or disliking. As long as two people are in love with each other, then they are a good match."
