Chapter 1115 Tingchuan Wakes Up

With tears in his eyes, Xu Haicheng told her about what had happened in the past three and a half days.

He originally thought Jia Yue was also injured and wanted her to recover properly, but these things were too big to hide.

He wanted to know from her own mouth rather than from someone else, and he also wanted to know from Jia Yue why they fell down the building together.

After hearing this, Xu Jiayue was stunned and slumped back onto the bed.

A moment later, tears streamed down her face. She pounded her head with her fists, blaming herself: "It's all my fault. I didn't hold Sitian back. I put that plate of pastries on the ground. I'm the one who deserves to die..."

Xu Haicheng grabbed Xu Jiayue's hand and held her tightly, preventing her from engaging in such self-harm.

Xu Jiayue cried incessantly, recounting what had happened to Xu Haicheng in fits and starts.

Xu Haicheng comforted her until she lay down, then continued to deal with other matters.

The funeral was held a day later, and not many people were notified.

Pei Yang, Shen Muzhi, and the others only then learned that Ni Sitian had died in childbirth. They found it hard to believe, but when they attended the funeral and saw the urn containing her ashes buried in the ground, along with the words engraved on the tombstone and the photograph pasted there, they had no choice but to accept it.

After the funeral was held in a low-key and simple manner, everyone began to worry about when Xu Tingchuan would regain his senses.

It wasn't until three days later that Xu Tingchuan woke up.

He reacted relatively quickly during the car accident. He was unconscious for so long because of brain damage, but the rest of his body was fine.

Upon waking up, he immediately asked about Ni Sitian, unaware that a week had already passed.

Pei Yang changed the subject, took the photos he had taken of the baby incubator, and talked to him more about the baby.

Hopefully, the arrival of this baby will alleviate the blow of Ni Sitian's passing.

However, such attempts to conceal it were futile, as Xu Tingchuan keenly sensed that something was amiss.

Ignoring the doctor's advice and despite having bandages on her head, she went from Linhai General Hospital to Yihai Youai Hospital.

After so many days of adjustments, Jin Rulan thought she was mentally prepared.

But when Xu Tingchuan asked her about it, she found that she still couldn't bring herself to say it.

Finally, it was Xu Haicheng who brought it up.

Xu Tingchuan's first reaction was to laugh. He was even less skeptical than Xu Jiayue, thinking they must be playing a huge joke on him.

Xu Jiayue came out of the ward on crutches, knelt down in front of Xu Tingchuan, and cried as she recounted what had happened, begging him to kill her.

Xu Tingchuan felt that everything in this space was illusory, the sounds were floating, and everything was fake—it was a nightmare.

How could his wife be gone? She's still alive! That morning she tied his tie for him, told him to drive carefully, and saw him off as he left. Even after he had driven a long way, he could still see her standing on the balcony watching his car.

They were all lying, they were all deceiving him! He didn't believe them! He didn't believe a single word they said!

“Brother—” Xu Jiayue watched as Xu Tingchuan’s body fell backward to the ground.

Xu Haicheng caught his son, and Jin Rulan went to call the medical staff.

She fainted due to the severe shock and almost went into shock. After emergency treatment, she was taken to a ward.

Xu Tingchuan woke up again late at night. He got up quietly without disturbing Jin Rulan, who was keeping watch next to him.

He walked out of the ward and went upstairs to the maternity ward, going into each room to look for Ni Sitian. He was sure she was just weak after childbirth and that they were all lying to him.

However, before he could finish checking, he was discovered by the guards on night patrol. There were still a few rooms left to check, and he resisted fiercely.
