Xu Tingchuan smiled, like the warmest sunshine in winter.
He hadn't laughed in a long time; he'd almost forgotten how to laugh like that.
She's back, that's good.
Both he and his son smiled.
Ni Sitian blushed slightly after being stared at by him for a long time. She lowered her head slightly and continued to tease Tuantuan.
Xu Tingchuan looked at the blush on her cheeks and felt a ticklish sensation in his heart, as if a feather had brushed against it.
He bent down, wanting to kiss her.
Ni Sitian instinctively leaned back, avoiding his kiss.
Before Xu Tingchuan could realize anything was wrong, he heard Tuantuan make a "poof poof poof" sound, followed by a foul odor.
Ni Sitian stiffened for a moment, and the hand that was supporting Tuan Tuan's bottom felt soft and warm.
Xu Tingchuan chuckled: "He pooped."
As he spoke, he first laid a plastic film on the bed, then picked up Tuantuan and placed him on it, and then said, "Keep an eye on him and don't let him crawl around. I'm going to pour a basin of warm water."
This was the first time Ni Sitian had faced such a situation. Seeing Xiao Tuantuan trying to roll and crawl on it, she remembered Xu Tingchuan's words and quickly and gently restrained his little feet.
Tuantuan grinned as if his mother were playing with him, waving his little arms for a hug.
Ni Sitian was hesitating whether to hold him when Xu Tingchuan came out with a small basin, placed it by the bed, and first took off Xiao Tuantuan's pants before untying his diaper.
A strong smell filled the entire room. Ni Sitian couldn't help but hold her breath. She watched as Xu Tingchuan seemed unaffected, skillfully cleaning up the soiled diaper, wiping off the stains on the bottom, soaking the baby wipes in warm water, wringing them out until they were half-dry, washing Tuantuan's bottom, and finally putting on a new diaper.
He then tidied up all the things he had used and threw them in the trash can.
Now refreshed, the little girl climbed back into Ni Sitian's arms, clinging to her and refusing to leave.
Xu Tingchuan was worried that Ni Sitian's arms would get tired from holding the baby for too long, so he tried to take the little guy from her arms. But the little guy didn't want him to hold him at all, and even seemed to think that he was bullying him, and kept burrowing into Ni Sitian's arms.
"Let me hold you." Ni Sitian was willing to hold him, as if she would never get tired of holding him for as long as she could.
Xu Tingchuan sat down to the side. Since his son wouldn't let him hold him, he decided to hold his wife instead, killing two birds with one stone.
So he reached out and pulled Ni Sitian into his arms.
Ni Sitian leaned gently against him, her eyes never leaving Tuantuan.
Xu Tingchuan told her about Tuantuan's daily life these past few days: her first time rolling over, her first time crawling, her first time standing...
He told her everything in great detail, saying, "I even filmed it; I'll show it to you later."
In order to make Ni Sitian feel like she was missing out on Tuantuan's growth when she came back, he would film Tuantuan every day. Because he was afraid of missing important moments, there was also a video surveillance in the room.
He never gave up hope and always firmly believed that she would come back.
She really came back.
“When I was in a car accident on the elevated road, I was in a coma for a few days. When I woke up, they all told me that you died in childbirth. I didn’t believe it, but Dad said that he saw you die from excessive bleeding on the operating table. They even arranged your funeral. What exactly happened?” Xu Tingchuan saw that Tuantuan was asleep in her arms, so he changed the subject to the main topic.
The immense joy of their previous reunion had made him forget everything, and he only remembered this now.
