After New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, it's time for relatives to visit each other during the Spring Festival.
As per usual, we went to Xu Tingchuan's maternal grandmother's house on the second day of the Lunar New Year. On the third day, Ni Sitian took Xu Tingchuan and Tuantuan to their uncle and aunt's house. Their cousin, Ni Tianzhen, also returned from studying abroad. She had changed a bit; she wasn't as lively and cheerful as before, but she was very calm and capable. And this time, she didn't plan to leave.
Ni Sitian talked with her for a long time and felt that in the past two years, she had gradually let go of what happened with Li Shaoan and was in a state of starting anew. It was clear that she really liked Tuantuan and probably wanted to have her own child.
On the way back, Ni Sitian couldn't help but mention to Xu Tingchuan that her aunt and uncle wanted to find her cousin another partner, adding, "Speaking of which, my sister is only twenty-seven this year, she really should start over. You know a lot of people, so you can help think of someone suitable."
Xu Tingchuan smiled faintly, then reached out and pinched her cheek. "Still so prone to worrying."
“Although Ni Qianshan isn’t my biological father, my uncle, aunt, and sister have always genuinely treated me well. How can that be called worrying?” Ni Sitian held the little girl’s hand in her arms and said, “Tuantuan, don’t you think what Mommy said is right? Tuantuan likes Auntie very much, right?”
The little dumpling nodded in agreement, as if that were the case.
"Okay, I'll keep an eye out for it." Xu Tingchuan's smile deepened as he watched the two of them putting on this act.
At that moment, he was so happy that he felt the world was filled with warm sunshine.
That was the end of the story, and Ni Sitian put it aside for the time being. On the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, Xu Tingchuan had something to do, so she took Tuantuan to visit Xiang's parents.
It's early February now, and it's been a year and a half since Zhi Lan left. Ni Sitian had promised Zhi Lan that she would help take care of the two elders, but she ended up having an accident herself, so she broke her promise.
However, she noticed that her parents looked very healthy, so they must be in good health; it was just a little quiet during the New Year.
Ni Sitian was holding Tuantuan and teaching him to say "Grandpa" and "Grandma" when the doorbell rang.
While Xiang's mother was playing with Tuantuan, Xiang's father went to open the door. Upon seeing that it was Shen Muzhi, he immediately closed the door.
"It's him again?" Hearing the noise, Xiang's mother turned around and asked Xiang's father, her tone full of helplessness.
Ni Sitian hadn't looked towards the door, but upon hearing Xiang Ma's words, she asked, "Is it Shen Muzhi?"
Dad nodded and looked at Mom.
"Old man, I'm warning you, don't be soft-hearted." Seeing the look in Xiang Dad's eyes, Xiang's mother knew what he was about to say and warned him in advance.
“This child comes every few days; I think he probably wants to win him back.”
“So what if he wants to win her back? Does Zhi Lan care? We raised her like a treasure, and he bullied her like that. What kind of treatment is this?” Xiang’s mother choked up as she spoke. “I don’t know where Zhi Lan is now, or how she is with the children.”
"Okay, okay, I was just saying, I didn't mean to forgive him." Dad quickly stopped him, not wanting to bring up painful memories.
As Ni Sitian listened, it seemed that Xiang's mother already knew what was going on between the two. Xiang Zhilan hadn't said anything back then, and it was impossible for her to say anything later, so it could only be that Shen Muzhi had told her himself.
I don't know whether to call him honest or stupid. After he told those things, the two old people were even less likely to forgive him.
