After leaving the island in the middle of the lake, Xiang Zhilan felt a little tired and closed her eyes for a short rest.
When I opened my eyes again, I realized that this was not the way home at all.
Xiang Zhilan frowned: "Where are we going?"
"Let's go home," Shen Muzhi replied as he drove. Seeing her unhappy face in the rearview mirror, he added, "You said you wouldn't take away my rights as a father, so the children can stay at my house occasionally, right?"
“Uh,” Xiang Zhilan looked out the car window. No wonder the scenery looked so familiar; it was the route to his house. “You should have told me beforehand and asked for my permission, right?”
“Alright, Mrs. Shen, may I ask you if I can go back and stay with the children for one night?” Shen Muzhi asked sincerely.
After taking a short nap, Xiang Zhilan was still a little groggy. The car had already driven all the way here, so how could she object? She could only nod.
But after nodding, she immediately realized something was wrong. He was taking advantage of her again. She frowned and corrected him, "I'm no longer Mrs. Shen."
Shen Muzhi ignored her words, secretly pleased with her nod earlier, and drove steadily.
About ten minutes later, we drove into the villa's courtyard.
When Xiang Zhilan got out of the car with the child, she was stunned by the yard.
This isn't a residential yard; it's practically a children's playground, filled with amusement facilities. It's incredibly extravagant; even Ni Sitian's yard today wasn't this exaggerated.
"What's going on over there?" Xiang Zhilan noticed that his yard had been expanded and there was a vacant lot under construction.
"Building a carousel, wouldn't all little girls like that? I think Xiao Kui will definitely like it." Shen Muzhi was very satisfied with his idea.
Xiang Zhilan was speechless. She had foreseen that he would be a father who doted on his child, but she never expected it to escalate to such an exaggerated degree.
She couldn't help but roll her eyes and said, "Why don't you just build another Ferris wheel? Then you can put up a sign at the entrance and sell tickets."
"How did you know I wanted to build another small Ferris wheel?" Shen Muzhi really did have this plan.
Xiang Zhilan felt she had absolutely nothing left to say to him; this man was insane, terminally ill.
"However, the authorities have refused to approve any more land a little further on," Shen Muzhi said with some regret.
"There's no hope for him. These things are only fun when you go to an amusement park occasionally. What's the point of having them all at home?" Xiang Zhilan was speechless at his extravagant and spoiled behavior.
“These are what I’ve accumulated every time I think of you and the children. It’s like every time I build one, there’s a greater chance that you’ll come back.” Shen Muzhi put down Hengheng, who was fussing about going down to play, and said with deep eyes, “They are also my memories.”
Xiang Zhilan looked into his eyes, and the emotions in them seemed to be overflowing. She turned her head away to avoid his gaze, while Xiao Kui, whom she was holding, had already gone to play on the seesaw with Hengheng.
When it was just the two of them left, Xiang Zhilan felt a little uncomfortable.
She discovered that Shen Muzhi wasn't entirely unchanged. He would never have said such things before; he kept everything buried in his heart. She knew he had feelings for her, but she never felt they were particularly intense; there was a mix of guilt in them.
When they met again, he frequently expressed his longing for her and their child in this way.
