"Do you think everything will be fine after explaining this?" Xiang Zhilan saw him relax and bit her lip: "I saw you buy jewelry for Bai Yutong that day with my own eyes. What excuse do you have?"
Shen Muzhi shook his head. He couldn't deny it, but he hadn't bought the bracelet for Bai Yutong on his own initiative. Bai Yutong had said that she had helped him pick out a ring and wanted him to thank her with a gift. Then she took the bracelet and asked to pay for it together with the ring he had bought.
He wouldn't bother with such a small amount of money, especially since Bai Yutong had bought Hengheng and Xiaokui quite a few gifts for the New Year, so he figured it was just a return gift. Actually, he picked out the ring himself; it had nothing to do with Bai Yutong.
But he couldn't bring up the ring with Xiang Zhilan now, otherwise it would seem like he was using his illness to gain her sympathy and get her to marry him. He didn't want that. He hoped that their second marriage would be voluntary, that she had feelings for him, and that it wasn't due to other factors.
"Hehe, speechless now. You're quite generous, but that brand isn't cheap." Xiang Zhilan didn't realize that her words sounded sarcastic.
"It's not what you think." Shen Muzhi was afraid she would misunderstand, but he didn't know how to explain, so he was a little anxious, and his stomach started to hurt. He raised his hand to cover his stomach.

She quickly put his arm on her shoulder, helped him to lie down on the bed, and covered him with a blanket.
"I'd like some water." Shen Muzhi knew that having her do something for him would make her feel more at ease.
Xiang Zhilan immediately poured hot water, sat down by the bed, blew on it to cool it down, tested the temperature, and then fed it to him.
Shen Muzhi felt that her way of taking care of people was like taking care of a child.
"Okay, all done." He drank half a glass, pursed his lips, and said, "I feel better now."
Xiang Zhilan breathed a sigh of relief and put the cup aside.
"Come on up too, you shouldn't move around too much right now." Shen Muzhi patted the other side of the bed.
Xiang Zhilan took off her clothes and went upstairs, lying on her side looking at him.
Shen Muzhi looked at her and sighed softly, "How did you know?"
“That’s not important,” Xiang Zhilan stared at him intently. “Why give up treatment? Don’t you want to spend more time with the children? Don’t you want to watch them go to school? You’re clearly not this kind of negative person.”
Shen Muzhi lowered his eyes slightly. He was not a pessimistic person, but after that trip to the zoo, he felt that they didn't need him.
"I'm a little jealous of Luo Che. It seems like you and the children are closer to him." He frankly expressed his thoughts, saying that he was so jealous that he almost lost his mind that day.
“There’s nothing between Luo Che and me. The children are close to him only because you didn’t come. Hengheng was still saying this morning that he wanted to take you to the zoo.
