Xiao Kui looked at him in surprise, "So there are things you don't know."
Tuantuan kept her head down and played, but Xiaokui still didn't move the mat away. Instead, she called out to Hengheng, "Brother, Tuantuan can't build a puppy either. Let's try to build it together."
Hengheng moved the mat over and looked at Tuantuan suspiciously. He didn't quite believe that Tuantuan couldn't do it. He had easily completed the more difficult ones yesterday. Maybe he didn't want to do it for Xiaokui, or maybe he didn't want Tuantuan to lose face in front of Xiaokui.
"Put this here." Xiao Kui tilted her head and placed the items, looking troubled.
"It's not placed here, it's placed here," Hengheng corrected her.
"That's not right." Xiao Kui put it back.
The two siblings started arguing about where to put it. Tuantuan glanced at it and said, "This is the spot."
He supported Hengheng, and Xiaokui looked at him, "Didn't you say you couldn't do it?"
Tuantuan didn't answer, and continued to work on the other pieces by herself.
Xiang Zhilan, watching from outside, asked Ni Sitian, "So Tuantuan knows how, right?"
Ni Sitian nodded. She hadn't expected Tuantuan to be so sensible at such a young age, and to deliberately hide her shortcomings so that Hengheng wouldn't embarrass himself in front of Xiaokui.
"That's wonderful, Tuantuan is so smart and sensible," Xiang Zhilan said with great envy.
"Sigh, there are times when things are hard to explain." Ni Sitian sighed and shook her head.
The two turned around and walked downstairs. Xiang Zhilan clicked her tongue and said, "Tuantuan is so smart and sensible, aren't you satisfied?"
“That’s not what I meant.” Ni Sitian lowered her voice and said to Xiang Zhilan, “He’s been very clingy to me lately, especially when I’m alone with Tingchuan, he’ll interrupt me.”
"Pfft," Xiang Zhilan laughed, "So you're upset that he interrupted your 'bad things' oh."
"Will Hengheng and the others be like this too?" Ni Sitian wanted to ask Xiang Zhilan for advice, since Xiang Zhilan was a mother of two and had more experience in raising children than she did.
"No, Hengheng just loves to go out and play and doesn't like to stick around us." Xiang Zhilan found it funny when she thought about it, and added, "Xiao Kui used to be a bit clingy, but now she's becoming more and more cheerful and outgoing. I feel like she's more like my mother-in-law, maybe it's a generational inheritance."
"Isn't that great? Your mother-in-law is talkative, cheerful, and trendy. There's no generation gap between you. With this kind of personality, she'll be a very happy person in the future." Ni Sitian was a little envious of the personalities of Xiang Zhilan's two children. Tuantuan was quiet and didn't like to smile or move around much, unlike other children who liked to go to the park to play.
"That's true. There's nothing wrong with being cheerful and smiling. She seems to really like Tuantuan." Xiang Zhilan suddenly remembered and asked, "Isn't Tuantuan's second birthday coming up soon?"
“Yes.” Ni Sitian smiled and replied, then her smile slowly faded as she said, “Because Tuantuan has been like this lately, and I’ve been biased towards him, Tingchuan seems to be really angry this time. He suddenly said he was going on a business trip, and I don’t know if he can make it back before his birthday.”
"You're overthinking it. Why would you hold a grudge against a child? Tuantuan will come back no matter what for her two-year birthday," Xiang Zhilan said.
“I don’t think he’s angry with Tuantuan, he’s angry with me. I’ve been neglecting him lately.” Ni Sitian has already reflected on her actions.
"It's not hard to solve this kind of thing. Just make a phone call, act cute, and say some sweet words, and it'll be fine."
“That’s true.” Ni Sitian thought she would call and say some sweet words when she got back.
