Ni Sitian picked up Tuantuan, ignored the luggage, and quickly ran outside the hotel.
The night outside was dark, and the hotel lights illuminated this corner of the place. She looked around and saw a figure in a dark blue coat bending down to get into a car.
"Tingchuan! Wait a minute!" she called out, and the car door closed and the car drove away.
She chased after the car, holding Tuantuan in her arms, calling out "Wait!" but the car eventually drove into the night.
She couldn't run anymore, and slowly and weakly put Tuantuan down, squatted by the roadside panting, feeling extremely frustrated.
I was planning to give him a surprise, but it turned out to be such a failure.
"Mom." Tuantuan hugged Ni Sitian's neck and gently rubbed her cheek against her, as if to comfort her.
She hugged his little body and cheered him up, saying, "It's okay, Mommy will call Daddy later."
“Dad…” Tuantuan saw Xu Tingchuan standing not far away with a suitcase, and he shook Ni Sitian’s sleeve. “Mom, Dad.”
Ni Sitian smiled helplessly, thinking he was asking her for a father, and said, "Okay, Mom will find you a father right now."
"Dad's over there." Tuantuan tugged at Ni Sitian's sleeve and pointed in a direction.
Ni Sitian paused for a moment, then slowly turned her head. She saw a pair of high-end handmade leather shoes, and then slowly raised her eyes. She saw Xu Tingchuan standing about two meters away, wearing a camel coat and a black turtleneck sweater, with a tall and straight figure.
Her eyes gradually reddened, a mixture of joy and surprise, as well as grievance and sadness.
Xu Tingchuan strode closer to her, bent down, and extended a hand to her.
She raised her hand and placed it in his palm, then he pulled her up. Her legs went weak as she bumped into his arms and wrapped her arms around his waist, saying in a hoarse, aggrieved voice, "I thought you were gone."
"Isn't tomorrow Tuantuan's birthday? Why did you bring him here?" Xu Tingchuan was startled when he saw them. He thought he was seeing things, but then he saw this silly boy calling his name and the car.
“I…” Ni Sitian got out of his arms, then picked up Tuantuan and put him in his arms, saying, “Tuantuan said he missed his dad, so I brought him here.”
Xu Tingchuan adjusted Xiao Tuantuan into a comfortable position, smiled at Ni Sitian, and asked, "Don't you miss me?"
Ni Sitian blushed, lowered her head, and nodded gently.
Xu Tingchuan's gloom of the past few days vanished completely.
A few minutes later, the family of three returned to the hotel lobby, and Ni Sitian sneezed several times.
“Tuantuan is very tired, let’s stay here tonight,” Xu Tingchuan said to Ni Sitian.
“Mmm.” Ni Sitian nodded.
So Xu Tingchuan took the original suite, and the family went upstairs.
It was already past nine o'clock, and Ni Sitian's stomach was rumbling.
Tuantuan is fine; she ate her fill on the plane, while she felt unwell during the flight and barely ate anything.
Xu Tingchuan smiled, put Tuantuan down, and called room service.
It was time for Tuantuan to go to bed. He looked sleepy with his eyes downcast. Ni Sitian helped him take off his clothes and tucked him into the blankets.
She sat on the edge of the bed watching him sleep soundly, then looked up at Xu Tingchuan, only to see him looking at her with a gentle smile.
"Aren't you angry with me anymore?" Ni Sitian pursed her lips and asked cautiously in a low voice.
"Shouldn't I be the one saying that?" Xu Tingchuan reached out and took her hand.
