Pei Yang winced in pain and released her mouth, frowning as he looked at her with a wronged expression: "You're trying to murder your husband!"
Xu Jiayue, panting, glared at him, her eyes instantly reddening and tears streaming down her face. She questioned him, "Do you think I'm like your previous women, someone you can bully at will without caring about my wishes? Do you think that because I married you, I'm no longer worth cherishing?"
Pei Yang didn't expect her to cry like that, and panicked, so he kept coaxing her, "I didn't mean it that way, don't cry."
He never forced any other woman, and since he went through so much trouble to marry her, how could he not cherish her?
"That's what you mean!" Xu Jiayue sobbed, patting his shoulder haphazardly.
"Be careful not to hurt your hand. It's better to hit me with a pillow." Pei Yang stuffed the pillow into Xu Jiayue's hand.
Xu Jiayue threw the pillow away and sniffed, "Who cares about hitting you!"
"I don't want to be hit by you." Pei Yang wiped away her tears with his fingers and coaxed her softly, "Don't cry, or you'll hurt your eyes."
"Don't touch me!" Xu Jiayue slapped his hand away, holding back her tears, and glared at him: "Are you leaving or not?"
Pei Yang really didn't want to leave. She looked absolutely delicious. The dress straps couldn't hold up her shoulders, her bust line was faintly visible, and her whole body was flushed pink.
He had been a celibate for so long, patiently waiting until after the wedding, and finally he got to consummate the marriage, but he couldn't even hold her while sleeping.
"Wife, then I won't touch you, just let me stay in this room." Pei Yang took a step back, at least wanting to share a bed with her.
Xu Jiayue didn't answer her, only looked at her with red eyes.
"Then you sleep on the bed, and I'll sleep on the floor. I promise I won't climb up in the middle of the night." Pei Yang conceded another step, saying, "It's unlucky for newlyweds to sleep in separate rooms, wife..."
"Don't call me wife!" Xu Jiayue shoved a pillow at him and said fiercely, "Get off the bed now."
“Yes.” Pei Yang immediately understood that she allowed him to stay in the room. He smiled brightly, took out the bedding from the closet, spread it on the floor under the bed, and looked up at Xu Jiayue with a smile, saying, “Baby, don’t be afraid of falling down tonight, I’ll catch you down here.”
Xu Jiayue felt frustrated; she regretted giving in, seeing how happy he was.
She threw back the covers, lay down, turned her back to him, and said coldly, "Turn off the light, it's blinding me."
“Okay.” Pei Yang turned off the light, then sat against the bedside table, turning his head to look at her in the darkness, a slight smile playing on his lips.
Xu Jiayue had her back to him, and the corners of her mouth were also slightly curved. She was nowhere to be seen as she had been crying sadly just now. Her dark eyes were clearly flashing with cunning.
Who said she couldn't beat him? A woman's tears can be very effective if used properly. Didn't she make him willingly watch her but not be able to have her?
"Baby, are you asleep?" Pei Yang felt he definitely wouldn't be able to sleep tonight; just looking at her like this felt like he could watch her all night long.
"You're not allowed to call me that. Who knows how many women you've called 'baby'?" Xu Jiayue found this overused nickname very offensive.
"I swear you're the only one who's my darling." Pei Yang had a headache; the reckoning was endless. He even wanted to travel back in time and strangle that absurd version of himself.
Xu Jiayue hummed twice, clearly not very convinced.
"Then call me 'darling'?" Pei Yang asked tentatively. Seeing that she didn't react, he changed it to "Little Darling?"
"Who's your ancestor? I don't have the same philandering and promiscuous habits as the Pei family." Xu Jiayue threw the cushion down.
