The car stopped outside the island in the middle of the lake.
Ni Sitian unbuckled her seatbelt, still looking at Zhi Lan with some unease, and said, "Don't argue with Shen Muzhi. Ask him properly. Maybe it has nothing to do with him and is just a coincidence."
Xiang Zhilan nodded, her face still tense.
How could it not be his fault? She wasn't that stupid. He specially helped her change into flat shoes this morning, and he was so careful and slow yesterday, as if he was afraid of hurting her. And later he stared at her stomach and smiled thoughtfully.
She was too slow to realize this time. Because she had used contraception, she felt at ease and didn't even think about it when she felt nauseous. She thought it was just an upset stomach.
"Then drive carefully." Ni Sitian got out of the car, closed the door, and waved to her.
Xiang Zhilan started the car, and Ni Sitian watched her drive away, let out a soft sigh, and walked towards the bridge.
When he got home, he saw Su Yan sitting in the living room, with Xu Tingchuan talking to her.
Tuantuan and Xiaochun were playing on the blanket, but rather than saying they were playing separately, the two little ones were quiet and didn't talk much.
"Sitian, you're back." Su Yan stood up and smiled at her.
Ni Sitian put down her bag and briefcase, walked over to her, and pulled her to sit down. "You brought Xiaochun here to play?"
“I came here specifically to see you.” Su Yan picked up a document bag and handed it to Ni Sitian, saying, “I heard you studied painting with Grandpa Wu before. I wanted to ask you to design a mural. Take a look at this information; it’s for a children’s welfare school organized by the foundation. I wonder if you have time?”
Ni Sitian flipped through the pages, looked up and smiled slightly: "Since it's such a good thing, of course I'll do it, and it's also my way of helping those children."
"Then I'll thank you on behalf of those children," Su Yan said with a smile.
The two started talking about children's welfare schools, and seeing that they were getting along well, Xu Tingchuan went upstairs.
“I also plan to let Tuantuan start kindergarten next year.” Ni Sitian talked to Su Yan about schooling. She and Xu Tingchuan had already discussed it. Next year, Tuantuan will be almost three years old, which is perfect for kindergarten. For now, she’ll be at an early childhood education center. She had also asked Tuantuan, and Tuantuan had no objections.
“I was worried that after September, when you all send your children to kindergarten, Xiaochun won’t have any playmates at the early education center. But this is good, Xiaochun can play with Tuantuan.” Su Yan picked up her teacup and took a sip.
Suddenly, her expression changed slightly, her brows furrowed tightly, she covered her lips, and coughed lightly in a suppressed manner.
Ni Sitian gently patted her back to help her catch her breath and asked, "Are you feeling unwell?"
Su Yan coughed for a while, then stopped making noise. She slowly lowered her hand, and there was a smear of blood on her palm. She quickly clenched her fist.
Ni Sitian didn't see her palm, but she saw under her nose and exclaimed in surprise, "Your nose is bleeding!"
"Really?" Su Yan touched her nose, and blood immediately stained her fingers.
Ni Sitian quickly pulled out a tissue for her, and Su Yan took it and wiped her eyes, but her eyes were still watering.
"I'll take you to the hospital." Ni Sitian was a little flustered.
Su Yan remained calm and smiled at her: "It's okay. I probably ate too many mangoes last night and got a sore throat. Where's the bathroom? I'll go for a bit."
Ni Sitian immediately took her to the bathroom, her brows furrowed with worry.
It doesn't look like a simple case of internal heat at all; there's no way someone would have such a severe nosebleed from internal heat.
Could it be a relapse of an old illness...?
