Xiang Zhilan's mouth and tongue went numb from his kisses, and she leaned against him to catch her breath.
"I'm sorry for disrupting your work schedule. I really acted on impulse and didn't mean to disrespect you." Shen Muzhi put his arm around her and gently stroked her back. He meant it sincerely; he wasn't trying to appease her. He was indeed wrong this time.
He never expected that just by puncturing a hole, at most a few tadpoles would swim out, and he would actually get pregnant.
"Forget it, she's already pregnant. I'll just hire another photographer to help." Xiang Zhilan originally wanted to scold him, but seeing that he admitted his mistake well, she didn't want to pursue the matter too much. Besides, he had never forced Hengheng and Xiaokui to change their surnames, so it was understandable that he wanted to have another child.
"You're not angry anymore?" Shen Muzhi looked down at her as her tone softened.
"Hmph, I haven't forgiven you, but getting angry isn't good for the child." Xiang Zhilan pushed his chest away and pouted.
Shen Muzhi knew that this was actually a form of forgiveness from her. She was always so stubborn, but deep down she was incredibly soft-hearted.
"Are you tired? Why don't you sit down for a bit?" he said softly, his arm gently supporting her waist.
"It's only been a little over a month, I haven't felt anything yet." Xiang Zhilan couldn't help but scold him, seeing his cautious manner, "It's not like it's your first time being a father, why are you so nervous?"
“No matter how many times it’s happened, I’m just as nervous.” Shen Muzhi insisted on helping her sit down.
Xiang Zhilan smiled, pleased that he hadn't looked down on her because of the second child.
"I'll go tell Chef Wang to prepare it according to the old menu." Shen Muzhi patted her head and said, "Is there anything you particularly want to eat?"
"I want something sour." She hasn't had a good appetite these past few days and wants something to stimulate her appetite.
"Okay, I think we should let Hengheng and Xiaokui stay with their parents for a few more days until your pregnancy is more stable before bringing them back. That way, they won't run around so much. These two little ones are so naughty right now, we can't control them." Shen Muzhi made the arrangements with a light smile.
"But I miss them so much. I'll bring them back after I've had my check-up and everything's fine." Xiang Zhilan didn't want them to feel neglected because of the second child.
"Well, I'm just afraid the two elders won't let her go. They're having a great time taking care of the kids now." Shen Muzhi put his hand on Xiang Zhilan's stomach and said, "If this pregnancy is also twins, then we'll be really busy."
"My parents are here too." Xiang Zhilan smiled, thinking that since she was going to have children anyway, having twins would be a good thing. All those playground equipment in the yard wouldn't go to waste, and the house would be as lively as a kindergarten.
"We'll go tell your parents the good news in a few days." Shen Muzhi felt particularly happy talking to her about the baby.
Xiang Zhilan went from being somewhat annoyed with him to having no choice but to accept the pregnancy, and now she is starting to look forward to the child.
Although her work schedule was disrupted, having adorable children like Hengheng and Xiaokui brought her just as much sense of accomplishment and satisfaction as her work.
Suddenly, she felt a little wish that time would pass faster; she couldn't wait to see the child.
Let's decide what to name the child. Hengheng and Xiaokui both have the character "xi" in their names, so let's name this child the same as his/her older siblings.
Forget it, let Shen Muzhi worry about that.
As Xiang Zhilan thought about these things, she lowered her eyes, touched her belly, and her gaze became unusually gentle.
