Chapter 1419 Open-minded

Ni Sitian only knew that she had miscarried, but didn't know why. Anxious, she asked, "Is it about what I said the day before yesterday...?"

“No,” Xiang Zhilan shook her head and said to her, “If he made me do this, how could I accept his care so readily now?”

Ni Sitian was momentarily confused, but after thinking it through, she realized it had nothing to do with Shen Muzhi.

“It’s an ectopic pregnancy.” Xiang Zhilan took a deep breath, then exhaled softly, and said, “It was purely an accident.”

Upon hearing this, Ni Sitian remained silent for a while, her nose turning slightly red, unsure of what to say to comfort her.

"Don't worry, I'm fine." Xiang Zhilan gently patted Ni Sitian's hand and said softly, "I feel like this child was there to resolve the issues between me and his father. He completed his mission and left."

Ni Sitian seemed much more at ease listening to her. It seemed that her relationship with Shen Muzhi had progressed further, and her inner knot had probably been untied.

"After losing him, I seem to understand a lot of things. I seem to be able to understand the feeling of mutual reliance between husband and wife that you used to talk about." Xiang Zhilan smiled calmly. "I used to be unable to completely trust and open my heart to him. Last night, I was in pain all night in a daze. I felt that he was always by my side, watching over me without leaving for a moment. I was in pain, but he seemed to be in even more pain than me."

Ni Sitian smiled faintly. If Zhi Lan could think this way, their future days would surely be more harmonious and loving.

"Take good care of yourself, there will always be other opportunities in the future." Ni Sitian gently patted the back of her hand.

Xiang Zhilan nodded and slowly lay down.

Seeing that she was alright and in a good mood, Ni Sitian was relieved and prepared to get up and call Shen Muzhi back in.

"Sitian, don't tell Su Yan about this," Xiang Zhilan suddenly said.

Ni Sitian turned around and looked at her, not quite understanding.

"I don't want to put pressure on her. I'll have the transplant surgery with her once I've recovered," Xiang Zhilan said. The child is gone, but she hopes Su Yan can still live.

Ni Sitian understood what she meant, nodded, and then opened the door and went out.

Seeing Shen Muzhi talking to Xu Tingchuan outside, he went over and said to Shen Muzhi, "Take good care of Zhilan."

Shen Mu nodded. He didn't need anyone to tell him; he would do it anyway. She was his wife, and taking care of her was his duty. She was the one he loved, and taking care of her was his instinct.

Ni Sitian glanced at Xu Tingchuan, and the two left together in tacit agreement.

Shen Muzhi returned to the ward. Xiang Zhilan saw him come in, smiled at him, and made a request as if she were being coquettish: "Tomorrow I want to drink corn and pork rib soup, not Chef Wang's, but yours."

He walked over and sat down, smoothed her hair, and replied, "Okay, I'll cook."

Over the next few days, Xiang Zhilan had him cook various kinds of soups, and he didn't mind the taste at all, drinking them all up each time.

When she was discharged from the hospital, her face was rosy and healthy, and you couldn't tell that she had just had a miscarriage.

However, miscarriage is just as harmful to the body as childbirth, so Shen Muzhi specially arranged for someone to prepare postpartum meals.

Xiang Zhilan felt much better after half a month of recuperation, but he still kept her on the bed to continue recuperating.

Over the past month, she has gained a full five pounds. She doesn't know if it's because she ate too many nourishing postpartum meals, but it seems like all the weight has gone to her chest.
