Xin Chun watched as Tuan Tuan neatly arranged the cards, but she put the card with the Chinese character "sunflower" drawn on it into her bag.
She looked away and fiddled with the number cards he had given her, then whispered to him, "Brother Ziyu, what is 6 + 7?"
She preferred to call him Brother Ziyu rather than Tuantuan, because everyone else liked to call him Tuantuan, and she wanted something different.
"It's thirteen." Tuantuan looked up, answered, and then lowered her head to play by herself again.
Ni Sitian really couldn't do anything with him. Xin Chun had been living at home for more than a month, but she hadn't seen him get close to her, and he rarely spoke to her.
Xin Chun wasn't as enthusiastic and proactive as Xiao Kui, so most of the time, the two of them would do their own thing, sometimes spending an entire quiet afternoon without making a sound.
"You two play first, I'll go make you some juice." Ni Sitian got up and went to the kitchen.
Xin Chun looked at the alphabet cards on the template. She actually wanted to talk to him, but apart from asking questions, she didn't know what to say.
Then she remembered that sometimes when Xiao Kui clung to him and talked, he would always ignore her. She thought that maybe he didn't like noise, so they would just stay quiet together.
Tuan Tuan arranged the letters, feeling a bit bored. He still preferred numbers, but he lent the cards to Xin Chun.
He looked up at the number cards in her hand and asked, "Have you learned them?"
Xin Chun was worried that he would think she was stupid, so she quickly nodded.
To her surprise, he held out his hand and said, "Give it back to me."
Xin Chun paused for a moment, then handed over the card. During the time she had spent with him, she had discovered that he had a strong possessiveness towards his own things and didn't like others touching them.
It was rare for him to lend her the card, and she was a little reluctant to return it after only a week.
"Here, take this." Tuantuan gave her his multiplication table, which he no longer used. He had memorized it all and it was useless to keep it, but it would be a waste to throw it away. He just wanted to exchange it with her for the number cards.
Xin Chun, unaware of his thoughts, happily accepted and whispered, "Thank you, Brother Ziyu."
Tuantuan fiddled with the number cards for a while, then put them away.
He figured that since Xiao Kui wanted it so much, he might as well teach her tomorrow.
"You're having juice. Today it's apple juice." Actually, it's apple and carrot juice. Ni Sitian had no choice but to come up with different ways to make it. Tuantuan doesn't like carrots, just like her.
"Thank you, Auntie," Xin Chun stood up and accepted the gift, replying very obediently.
Ni Sitian handed another cup to Tuantuan, then went back to the kitchen to clean up.
Tuantuan looked at the red cup. At first, he was fooled, but after two times, he saw through the true nature of the apple juice and was not so willing to drink it.
"Aren't you going to drink?" Xin Chun asked Tuan Tuan after finishing her drink through the straw.
"I don't like it," Tuantuan said frankly.
Xin Chun looked at him, then at the juice, and said, "Then I'll drink it for you."
"That's not a good idea," Tuantuan said, afraid that her mother would be unhappy if she found out.
"I won't tell Auntie." Xin Chun was especially happy to be able to talk to Tuan Tuan for a while, so she picked up her cup and started sucking on the straw.
Since Tuantuan assumed she liked the drink, she remained silent.
In fact, Xin Chun doesn't like carrots, but she never says what she doesn't like because she doesn't want people to think she's a nuisance.
