Chapter 1428 Little Sunflower Worship

This little peach was given to her by her mother the day before yesterday. She was reluctant to eat it and specially saved it to give to Tuantuan when she made up with him.

"Thank you." Tuan Tuan didn't understand why she suddenly became so enthusiastic again, but he felt quite pleased. Although she was noisy when she wasn't being difficult, he could still tolerate her.

"Xiao Kui has been studying math very diligently these past few days," Heng Heng said to Tuan Tuan. As the older brother, he could tell that Xiao Kui had been unhappy these past few days, so he wanted to help Xiao Kui and Tuan Tuan make up.

"Mom even taught me to recite poems," Xiao Kui interjected. "Now I can recite 'Goose, goose, goose, white feathers float on green water, red webbed feet'..."

Halfway through reciting, Xiao Kui suddenly couldn't remember and kept getting stuck on the part about the red palm.

“It’s the red palms that stir the clear waves,” Tuantuan chimed in.

“Yes, it’s ‘拨清波’.” Xiao Kui looked at Tuan Tuan with admiration and worship: “Tuan Tuan, you’re amazing.”

She spent a week trying to memorize it but couldn't, while he seemed to be able to answer her questions effortlessly.

Tuantuan was in a better mood after being praised, so she took out the card with the character "葵" (kui, meaning sunflower) from her little schoolbag and handed it to her, saying casually, "This is the '葵' (kui) for you, the character for sunflower."

Xiao Kui can't read yet, but when he said he was giving her a card, she happily accepted it. It had a beautiful sunflower on it. Her mother had said before that her Kui was the same Kui as in sunflower; was he giving her her name specifically?

Xiao Kui smiled happily, pursing her lips.

Hengheng's attention was already on playing with toy cars, while Xin Chun, seeing that Tuantuan and Xiaokui had made up again, lowered her eyes and fiddled with the multiplication table in her hand.

"Tuantuan, teach me math!" Xiaokui said to Tuantuan, just as cheerful and clingy as ever.

Tuantuan had originally planned to teach her anyway, so he nodded, took out the number cards he had gotten back from Xin Chun, and laid them out to teach her addition of numbers above three. He already knew from Hengheng that her progress was very slow.

The two little figures were doing math together, while Hengheng was chasing after a remote-controlled car all by himself. Xin Chun sat there looking all alone, and because she didn't say anything, everyone seemed to have forgotten her existence.

Xiao Kui said she was learning math from Tuan Tuan, but she kept talking about the interesting things that had happened in the past few days, as if she wanted to make up for all the things she had said in a week, and she became even more lively.

Ni Sitian couldn't see from the kitchen, but hearing how lively they were outside put her mind at ease. They had made up, after all. If it weren't for Xiao Kui's personality, Tuan Tuan would be too quiet.

It wasn't until after dinner that Ni Sitian sent Xiao Zhang to take the two children back.

Xu Tingchuan has been quite busy with work lately, and he doesn't get back until 8 p.m.

Ni Sitian cooked him a bowl of noodles, and Xu Tingchuan ate while asking about his day.

"The doctor said that Su Yan has not shown any rejection reaction yet. This afternoon, Zhi Lan called to say that Su Yan has woken up and can be transferred to a ward after staying in the ICU for another day." Ni Sitian felt that everything was going smoothly and was particularly relaxed and happy. She added, "Also, Zhi Lan can be discharged from the hospital tomorrow to recuperate at home. She will recover in a few days."

As Xu Tingchuan ate his noodles, feeling warm in his stomach, he saw her beaming and couldn't help but ask, "Did anything else good happen?"

“Tuantuan and Xiaokui have made up,” Ni Sitian said with a smile.

"Did they argue?" Xu Tingchuan asked, puzzled.

Ni Sitian felt defeated. He was clearly there that day, and now she didn't know whether to call him careless or lacking in emotional intelligence. Her son had been even quieter and less talkative these past few days, and she hadn't even noticed.
