"It's better if I talk to Brother Yang about this myself." Yan Yu had already made several calls that morning, but all she heard was the cold female voice from the mobile company saying that the call could not be connected.

She was just Xu Haicheng's adopted daughter. Even if Xu Haicheng was powerful, Xu Jiayue herself couldn't help him with anything.
"Say what you want to say, or get out." Xu Jiayue pressed the doorknob, preparing to close the door.
“The three major shareholders who were originally on his side have already pledged allegiance to the old man. He needs to be careful in the vote this afternoon. I will also support him with my vote.” Yan Yu herself owns several percent of the shares in Pei’s Group, which qualifies her to attend the shareholders’ meeting.
After listening to her, Xu Jiayue frowned slightly. She had never understood the intrigues and power struggles in business, but from what Yan Yu said, it seemed to be a very important matter.
"I don't know what use Yang-ge has for you. You don't even get to benefit from the Xu family's influence." Yan Yu said sarcastically, seeing that she didn't quite understand.

How could he not know that what the old man really wanted was just those shares in the Yan family?
Even at the wedding, when Jia Yue was late, the old man planned to have Yan Yu take her place.
