Chapter 1459 (This last part is a separate, unrelated chapter and doesn't directly relate to the previous chapter.)

Xu Jiayue struggled slightly, but he held her firmly in place. She buried her head in his chest and punched him with her small fists, "Do you know how worried I was! You bastard! You bastard!"

He just wanted to surprise her, but he didn't expect there to be a car accident next to them, which made her misunderstand the sound of brakes.

"I was wrong, I accept the punishment." Pei Yang patted her gently to help her catch her breath.

Xu Jiayue hummed, and after letting go of her worries, she slowly became happier. She pouted and said, "It's not a holiday or anything, why are you sending me flowers?"

"Look at what you're saying. Do I have to wait for a certain day to send flowers? Does it mean I won't love you if it's not a holiday?" Pei Yang gently stroked her hair, looked down at her, and said, "As long as I love you, I don't need any excuse to send flowers. Of course, I'll send them whenever I want."

Xu Jiayue's lips curved into a smile. This guy's sweet talk could be written into a book; he always managed to touch her heart.

"Okay, don't be angry anymore." Pei Yang helped her into the car.

"I drove today," Xu Jiayue said to Pei Yang as she remembered.

"Then let it sit there. I'll drive you to work tomorrow." Pei Yang got into the driver's seat, leaned over and kissed Xu Jiayue's cheek, saying, "Don't you feel happy to receive this bouquet of flowers?"

Xu Jiayue rolled her eyes at him, annoyed. He was quite adept at this romantic tactic of first suppressing and then elevating the mood. She didn't want him to succeed, but she couldn't help but laugh and lowered her head to sniff the roses in her arms.

"These roses don't look very good to me now," Pei Yang said as he started the car.

Xu Jiayue took a look. These were roseonly roses. What was wrong with them? She looked at Pei Yang in confusion and said, "I think they're beautiful."

“It’s still not enough,” Pei Yang turned his head, looked at her deeply, and smiled with narrowed eyes, “You are so much more beautiful than the flowers, they all pale in comparison.”

Xu Jiayue realized that he was subtly complimenting her on her beauty, and she burst out laughing.

Seeing her smiling so happily, Pei Yang's lips curled up as well: "With your smile, even the flowers are too embarrassed to bloom."

"Okay, okay, aren't you being cheesy? I know I'm incredibly beautiful." Xu Jiayue was amused by him and completely forgot about the lie he had just told her. She was in a great mood.

"It's not cheesy to say the truth." Pei Yangteng reached out and pinched her cheek, sighing, "How lucky I am to have married such a beautiful wife."

Xu Jiayue laughed even more happily, but suddenly a truck came head-on into her car. Her eyes widened, and she was so shocked that she couldn't make a sound.

Pei Yang spun around rapidly. The truck narrowly missed their car. He braked and looked back, but the truck had already sped away.

Xu Jiayue, still in shock, grabbed Pei Yang's hand.

The two asked in unison, "Are you alright?"

They shook their heads again, and then Xu Jiayue frowned and said, "That car looks like it deliberately crashed into us."

Pei Yang's face darkened. Even Xu Jiayue could see it, so naturally he could too.

Although the old man and he haven't been on good terms lately, he is, after all, the grandson he raised himself, so it's unlikely that the old man did this; the most likely culprit is Pei Yan.

This good-for-nothing dares to pull such a stunt. If he isn't taught a lesson, he'll actually come at me looking for death.

"Let's call the police." After figuring out the key point, Xu Jiayue felt that it must be related to today's shareholders' meeting.

"Calling the police will only catch the truck driver who was ordered around." Pei Yang patted her hand and said with a faint smile, "Trust me, I'll handle it."

“But they’re playing dirty tricks,” Xu Jiayue said, still feeling uneasy.

“Then I’ll be even more cunning than them.” Pei Yang smirked.

Xu Jiayue looked at the cold light in his eyes and felt a little unfamiliar with him. When he was with her, he was always joking and laughing. She had never seen him with such an expression before and was stunned for a moment.
