Pei Yang held her tightly for a while before letting go, then lowered his head and gently stroked the tear stains on her cheeks with both hands.
Xu Jiayue had already stopped crying. She lowered her eyes and took two steps back.
Pei Yang's hand froze in mid-air. He thought she was still rejecting his touch, and his heart pounded with anxiety. Looking at her beautiful face in the moonlight, he couldn't utter a single comforting word. His eloquence seemed to vanish in front of her, and he was afraid of saying something wrong and upsetting her again.
Xu Jiayue had no idea what he was thinking. She stood quietly for a while, composed herself, took a deep breath, looked up at him with a smile, and extended her hand: "Hello, my name is Xu Jiayue."
Pei Yang was slightly taken aback, then raised his hand and grasped hers. Suddenly, he understood what she meant, smiled, and said, "I am Pei Yang."
Her smile widened; she knew he understood.
Starting today, they will wash away the past and get to know each other anew; she wants to understand him completely.
In the dark blue night, as the breeze dispersed the clouds and the bright moon shone on their faces, their sincere smiles were exceptionally comforting to behold.
Five minutes later, soft, delicate voices echoed from the bedroom.
"No...it itches..."
"Don't touch there...it hurts, it hurts, it hurts..."
"Pei Yang... I'm getting angry... Hahaha..."
Xu Jiayue lay on the bed, her expression a mixture of pain and joy, constantly uttering in a way that could be easily misunderstood as a soft moan.
"Is it painful or comfortable?" Pei Yang asked with a smile, raising an eyebrow.
Xu Jiayue sat up, splashed the water in the basin with her toes to stop the tears that were both painful and pleasurable, and said with a smile, "How come I didn't know you had this skill?"
“There’s a lot you don’t know.” Pei Yang took a towel and dried her small feet, then said, “You didn’t even wear slippers when you ran out, you got yourself all dirty. Luckily there were no broken glass or anything like that in the house, what if you had stepped on them?”
Xu Jiayue felt comforted as he scolded her.
As he moved her calves onto the bed, she wrapped her arms around his neck and said, "I'll get to know you better from now on."
Pei Yang lowered his head and gently pecked her lips, looking at her with deep eyes, and said in a low voice, "Thank you, thank you for accepting me who isn't so good."
Xu Jiayue felt a pang of sympathy in his voice and hugged his neck tightly. She knew she had her flaws too; she was willful, spoiled, jealous, stubborn, and prone to overthinking. But in his eyes, she seemed to have no faults whatsoever.
“Pei Yang, I…” Xu Jiayue didn’t know how to express her feelings at that moment, and blurted out in his ear, “I haven’t put that on yet tonight…”
After saying that, she was so ashamed and angry that she wanted to bang her head against the wall. They had just made up, and they should have been expressing their feelings to each other in a warm atmosphere, but she actually said that!
"Hmm?" Pei Yang looked at her suddenly flushed cheeks and understood. He raised an eyebrow and smiled, "You mean you want me to help you?"
"No, no... um..." Before she could finish speaking, his lips and tongue sealed her mouth.
His movements were clean and efficient; while he was eating the soft tofu with one hand, he had already taken the jade from the bedside table with the other.
As he slowly pushed in, it was no longer as difficult as before, and his girl was one step closer to becoming his woman.
He adored her shy demeanor and lowered his head to kiss her rosy cheeks.
