Xu Ziyu did not answer his question directly, but only said, "She left something with me."
"That's unfortunate, she's not home." Xiang Hengxi glanced at Xu Ziyu's backpack and said, "What's this? Give it to me."
Xu Ziyu gripped the strawberry eraser tightly in his hand and turned to leave.
Xiang Hengxi rushed over, put his arm around Xu Ziyu's shoulder, and said as if he was about to have a heart-to-heart talk, "Ayu, what did you do to upset her? She wouldn't even let me mention your name. It seems she's really angry."
Xu Ziyu lowered his left shoulder, pushed his arm away, and continued walking forward expressionlessly.
Xiang Hengxi shook his head helplessly. This little dumpling has always been like this since she was a child. She doesn't like or is not interested in topics, and she is too lazy to even pay attention to them. But Xiao Kui is persistent and keeps coming up to her.
He quickly followed, and seeing Uncle Zhang's car parked outside, he unceremoniously jumped into the car, took a drink from the mini-fridge, and started gulping it down.
Xu Ziyu got into the car and looked at Xiang Hengxi's impolite manner, thinking to himself that it was no wonder they were twins; the two of them really did look alike sometimes.
"Uncle Zhang, could you please take me to school?" Xiang Hengxi said to the Xu family's driver. He had arranged to meet some classmates at school today.
Xiao Zhang glanced at Xu Ziyu, and seeing that he nodded, he started the car.
After finishing his drink, Xiang Hengxi said to Xu Ziyu, "Ayu, I heard from Xiaomengmeng the other day that you took the college entrance exam last year and even made it to Qingda University's admission line. Is that true? I've never heard you mention it before."
The "little cutie" he mentioned is Xu Ziyu's cousin, Pei Yumeng, who is more than three years younger than them and is still in the fifth grade of elementary school.
"It was just a test for fun, nothing much to say," Xu Ziyu said calmly and without a trace of emotion.
"You got into Qingda University just for fun. If you took the exam seriously, do you want to fly to the sky?" Xiang Hengxi rolled his eyes. He had experienced the gap in intelligence that came with being crushed since he was a child, but he still wanted to pinch this guy at times like this.
Xu Ziyu didn't say anything, but he remembered Luo Xikui comforting him by mentioning her brother's hoarse voice during puberty, and thought to himself that it really didn't sound very good.
Thinking this, the corners of his mouth involuntarily curved into a slight smile.
"What are you laughing at?" Xiang Hengxi narrowed his eyes, sensing that it couldn't be anything good.
Xu Ziyu naturally wouldn't say it aloud, but turned his head to look out the window and saw a familiar profile.
If he wasn't mistaken, the girl sitting by the window in the coffee shop was Luo Xikui.
And the boy sitting opposite her...
"Hey, I'm talking to you. Are you going to the college basketball open tournament next week or not?" Xiang Hengxi nudged his knee with his knee.
He snapped out of his reverie, his eyes darkening slightly, his tone cool: "We'll see."
Xiang Hengxi didn't quite understand why his friend was suddenly in a bad mood, but he wasn't one to pry, so he stopped asking and started making a phone call to his classmate whom he had arranged to meet.
A few minutes later, at the school gate, Xiang Hengxi waved goodbye to Xu Ziyu.
"Uncle Zhang, could you please go back to the intersection we just passed?" Xu Ziyu said.
Seven or eight minutes later, the car stopped.
Xu Ziyu looked out of the coffee shop’s floor-to-ceiling window and saw a girl in a light yellow floral dress with a Peter Pan collar biting her pen and listening intently to what the boy across from her was saying. Their heads were very close, so close that one would want to pry them apart.
