Luo Xikui followed Xu Ziyu into the room and sat down obediently.
Because of the argument they had here last time, she didn't dare to be careless today.
"Do this test paper first." Xu Ziyu took the test paper out of the drawer and pulled a pen from the pen holder for her.
She focused her mind, stopped daydreaming, and began to work on the test paper.
Xu Ziyu sat on the sofa next to him with a book in his hand, his eyes lowered as he flipped through the pages.
For a moment, the only sounds in the room were writing and turning pages, and the setting sun slanted in, making it especially quiet.
About half an hour later, Xu Ziyu got up and went downstairs.
Ni Sitian happened to be home and saw him, so she smiled and asked, "Why didn't you go play ball with Hengheng?"
"Mock exam on Monday." Xu Ziyu walked into the kitchen.
Ni Sitian was quite surprised and followed her into the kitchen, saying, "You don't study, so what does the mock exam have to do with you?"
Xu Ziyu took out two servings of fruit from the refrigerator. Ni Sitian suddenly realized and said with a smile, "Xiao Kui is here! Don't just take fruit, there's pudding in the second compartment. Do you want me to make you some mung bean soup?"
She was overjoyed to know that the two children had made up, and immediately told her son to take some gifts upstairs to entertain Xiao Kui.
Finally, Xu Ziyu brought out a very lavish tray, and after entering the room, he placed the tray on the desk.
He saw Luo Xikui biting her pen, her brows slightly furrowed, looking very troubled by a certain question. But as soon as she saw him come in, her expression changed, as if she was hiding that she couldn't write it.
"Your approach to the problem is wrong." He glanced at her draft and said casually.
Luo Xikui was a little frustrated, as he had still noticed that she couldn't write it. However, he didn't seem to mean to scold her. She cautiously responded and lowered her head to try to solve it from a different angle.
"Let's eat first." He placed the plate and fork in front of her.
The pudding in the dish swayed slightly, looking crystal clear and incredibly delicious and tempting.
She happily picked up her fork and began to eat.
Xu Ziyu, holding his own portion, sat down to the side and casually remarked as he ate, "Is Yuan Cheng in his first year of high school now?"
“Yes.” Luo Xikui didn’t think much of it and praised, “He was third in the city in the high school entrance exam last year, that’s amazing.”
Xu Ziyu gave a soft, ambiguous hum.
Luo Xikui didn't notice, turned to look at him, and said, "But you're still the best. You'll definitely get first place."
"Being number one in the city isn't really that interesting," Xu Ziyu said slowly as he ate his pudding.
Luo Xikui: "..."
Okay, she admitted he had the right to say that; he'd been number one in the city in several mock exams, so it really wasn't that impressive. As for the provincial exams, the mock exam papers varied between cities, making direct comparisons difficult.
“The academic workload at No. 1 High School must be quite heavy.” Xu Ziyu brought the topic back on track and added, “I heard that they rank students according to the average score of all exams in a semester, and then reassign classes in the next academic year.”
Luo Xikui was stunned, not understanding why he suddenly brought this up.
"If you don't do well on the test, you'll be placed in a regular class." Xu Ziyu put down the plate, picked up the book again, and said casually, "Won't it interfere with your studies if he tutors you?"
“Uh…” Luo Xikui finally understood; he had overheard what she and her brother were saying.
However, what he said seemed to make sense. Yuan Cheng had been teaching her recently, and now that the end of the semester was approaching, she should be very busy with her studies. It didn't seem right for her to keep him from learning.
Xu Zi understood when he met her, so he lowered his eyes to look at the book and said softly, "It's better not to trouble others too much."
"Hmm." Luo Xikui thought that made sense, so she nodded, and then the corners of her mouth involuntarily curved up.
Does his statement that Yuan Cheng is someone else mean that he is one of his own?
