Chapter 1533 Extra Chapter 043: Still Worried

Luo Xikui pursed her lips, not answering Xin Chun's question, because she herself couldn't make a decision for the time being.

Seeing that she remained silent, Xin Chun didn't ask any more questions. Her eyes glanced unintentionally at the crack in the door again, and the shoe tip was gone. She said, "You should rest well and get better soon."

Luo Xikui nodded. Seeing that Xin Chun was about to leave, she got out of bed to see her off, but Xin Chun quickly pressed her back onto the bed and told her to rest.

She watched Xin Chun leave the bedroom, then turned to look at the violin, wondering how to become a better version of herself.

Xin Chun went out the door and headed towards the stairs. She saw Xiang Hengxi leaning against the handrail at the top of the stairs, his gaze seemingly scrutinizing her. Xin Chun looked back at him gracefully and nodded.

"Thank you." Xiang Hengxi thought the words she had just heard from her sister were very well said.

He had been somewhat wary of her before, always feeling that she wasn't as innocent as his younger sister, and that she liked A-Yu, so he was afraid his sister would get hurt. But what she said just now put his mind at ease.

However, now that Ayu is going abroad, there's no point in saying all this.

Xin Chun didn't say anything in response to Xiang Hengxi's "thank you" and went downstairs. In her heart, she secretly envied Luo Xikui, who not only had a prominent family background and loving parents, but also a brother who protected her. She had nothing to lack.

Xin Chun suppressed her thoughts, but unexpectedly ran into Xu Ziyu.

"Ah Yu, you've come to see Xiao Kui too?" Xin Chun gripped the bag in her handbag tightly, forcing herself to remain calm as she spoke to him.

Xu Ziyu nodded, and unusually took the initiative to speak to her: "How is she?"

Xin Chun had long noticed that whenever he initiated a conversation with her, it was mostly about Luo Xi Kui. It was better when they were young, but it seemed like he had nothing else to say to her after they grew up.

"My throat is a little hoarse, and I have a slight cough, but otherwise I'm fine," Xin Chun replied as usual.

Xu Ziyu didn't say anything and went straight upstairs.

Upon reaching the upper floor, one could hear the soft prelude of a violin.

He stopped outside her door and saw through the crack that she was standing with her back to him, her violin resting on her shoulder, her chin gently touching the bow with one hand.

It had been a long time since he had seen her play the violin like this. He could imagine her with the sheet music on the table, her eyes slightly lowered, looking serene.

Thinking back to when he first thought girls were complicated and hard to understand, it was when she, who was lively and outgoing and always chattering, started playing the violin so quietly.

He used to think that if she were to learn a musical instrument, it would be drums, because it would be more lively.

Later, I saw her play the violin for the first time at a talent show when she was in second grade, and I was surprised to find that she and the violin were perfectly matched.

Bang!

The string broke.

Luo Xikui put down the bow, sat on the bed, and stroked the instrument. She had neglected it for so long that it was throwing a tantrum at her.

Xu Ziyu raised his hand and knocked on the door, then pushed it open and went inside.

Luo Xikui didn't turn around, assuming it was Xiang Hengxi who had come in, and said in a hoarse voice, "Brother, you were right before, I want to start playing the violin again."

Xu Ziyu walked up to her, looked down at the whorl of hair on her head, and gently hummed in agreement: "You play the violin very well."

Upon hearing this, Luo Xikui stiffened slightly, her eyes slowly moving up from his shoes to where she saw the long-unseen young man standing straight before her.

She moved her lips slightly, then pressed them tightly together, staring straight at him.
