After sending the message, Luo Xikui casually tossed her phone aside, lay down, rested her head on her arm, and closed her eyes.
Perhaps it was because people kept mentioning Xu Ziyu that her mind was filled with those past memories, and waves of bitterness welled up in her heart, making her feel extremely uncomfortable.
How long had it been since she last saw him? Almost two years, right? The last time was when she went to Berlin with her teacher to perform. She secretly ran over to see him and saw him sitting in the courtyard reading a book from afar.
When was the last time we spoke? It must have been a long time ago, probably when she first went to the United States.
Actually, during his first year in Germany, they often video chatted, but gradually they reduced it as he got busier. Later, he did see each other a few times when he came back for winter and summer vacations.
By the second year, they were both even busier, and by the second half of the year they could only contact each other about once a month. Then some things happened, and she stopped contacting him for a while. He, as if on the other hand, seemed to have reached a tacit understanding and stopped contacting her.
Even after so much time has passed, Luo Xikui can still clearly remember the day she sent him to the airport; it was a day with beautiful sunset glow.
"Xu Ziyu..." she called his name softly, closed her eyes, buried her head on the pillow, and sobbed, biting her lip to keep herself from making a sound.
I don't know when I fell asleep, but my eyes started to hurt and I drifted off to sleep.
She woke up again at 6:30 the next day. Her previous laziness had improved a lot since going to the United States. Her professor told her that she lacked strength and suggested that she exercise every day, so she made it a habit to do weighted jogging with her wrists every morning.
Although she's not in the US now, she hasn't changed this habit; she exercises her arms to play the violin better.
After washing up, she ran downstairs in her sportswear.
While running along the riverbank, they ran into Xiang Hengxi, who was always busy.
The two siblings went for a morning run together and didn't return home until eight o'clock to have breakfast.
Unexpectedly, someone Luo Xikui hadn't seen in a long time, Xu Ziyu's little cousin Pei Yumeng, came to visit so early in the morning.
"Sister Xiaokui." Pei Yumeng looked up with a smiling face. She resembled Pei Yang, with long eyebrows and eyes.
"So early, are you here to do your homework with Sweet Orange and Sweet Taro?" Luo Xikui smiled and sat down in a dining chair.
"Who wants to see those two?" Pei Yumeng looked at Xiang Hengxi with bright eyes and said, "Brother Heng, how about we go play CS today?"
Luo Xikui was stunned for a moment. Why did Pei Yumeng's gaze seem so familiar to her?
Has she been away from home for too long? What's going on here?
Aren't Acheng and Ayu supposed to like Xiaomengmeng? How come Xiaomengmeng likes her brother instead?
"That's just kids' stuff, you guys go ahead." Xiang Hengxi sat down and picked up a fried dough stick to eat his breakfast.
Pei Yumeng sat down next to him, her chubby little face still showing, and blinked her eyes pitifully, saying, "Come on, come on! I already told my friends that my partner is amazing. If you don't go, I'll be doomed in no time!"
Luo Xikui ate her steamed bun with great interest, her eyes darting between the two men. She saw that her brother, despite being pleaded with by that soft, sweet voice, remained unmoved and still refused to go.
"Mengmeng, I'm going." Two voices rang out in unison from the stairs.
Luo Xikui looked up and watched her two younger brothers come down, then turned her gaze to Xiang Hengxi.
This situation is really... cough cough, complicated.
