Chapter 1556, Side Story 066: Learning on the Spot

Just as Luo Xikui was thinking of delaying, a knock came at the door, and a deep, magnetic voice came from outside: "Does it take you this long to change your clothes?"

Luo Xikui froze for a moment, then steeled herself and opened the door.

Xu Ziyu looked at her face and gave a faint "hmm": "You've gotten yourself all cleaned up this time."

Luo Xikui pursed her lips and stood in front of the door, showing no intention of inviting him in.

Xu Ziyu glanced into the room; the birthday gifts he had given her before were still on her desk.

"Is this how you plan to entertain your guests?" His gaze shifted back to her face, where she wore a tense expression, as if she were extremely unwilling to entertain him.

"What kind of guest are you?" Luo Xikui muttered. She had never seen a guest more at ease than the host, especially since he used to come here often.

Hearing her mutter, Xu Ziyu smiled and said, "Let's go downstairs."

Luo Xikui left the room, closed the door behind her, and followed him downstairs.

She noticed that he used to always take big strides and walk very fast, but since they met yesterday, he has been much more considerate than before, and she no longer has to run to keep up with him.

When the two got downstairs, Luo Xikui's stomach started to protest again.

She looked at Xu Ziyu awkwardly and asked, "You didn't eat lunch either, did you?"

Xu Ziyu glanced at her stomach and nodded slightly.

"Then let's order takeout." Luo Xikui can't cook anyway. Although she studied in the United States, her parents took good care of her there, so she is a typical person who never lifts a finger to cook.

It wasn't that she wanted to be so useless; it was just that once when she was cooking, she almost burned down the kitchen and injured her hand. She was terrified afterward because her fingers are very important, and she hasn't touched a spatula since.

"By the time the takeout arrives, you'll be starving." Xu Ziyu glanced at her and said helplessly, "I'll cook."

"Huh? You can cook?" Luo Xikui was quite surprised, as she had no recollection of him having anything to do with the word "kitchen".

Xu Ziyu unbuttoned his shirt, rolled up his sleeves, and walked towards the kitchen.

Luo Xikui followed him inside, and saw him pick up Master Wang's black apron and tie it around his waist.

Wearing a white shirt and a black apron, with one forearm exposed, he took ingredients out of the refrigerator.

She stared in disbelief, wondering how someone could look so beautiful even while cooking.

"What are you standing there for? Come and help." Xu Ziyu glanced at her.

"Oh." She went inside, unsure of what to do.

"Wash the potatoes and then peel them," Xu Ziyu instructed her.

Luo Xikui obeyed the command and the action, obediently washing the potatoes and then peeling them.

While he was peeling the ribs, I heard him chopping them, so I turned my head to look.

Xu Ziyu chopped the ribs, put them in a pot to blanch, and looked at Luo Xikui.

Luo Xikui's gaze met his, and she quickly looked away to continue peeling.

Then, realizing that he might be making his intentions too obvious, he asked, "When did you learn to cook?"

"Today." Xu Ziyu had no idea how to cook. If she was a young lady, wasn't he a young master too? There was no time when he needed to cook for himself.

"Huh?!" Luo Xikui was startled and stared at him with wide eyes.

"I'll learn and do it right away, any problems?" Xu Ziyu checked the recipe and propped his phone up on the wall.

"No problem..." The problem is, did he come here today just to cook for her?!
